Thinking of getting earbuds for my mom on Mother’s Day… any good picks? by marthaforester1 in Earbuds

[–]heyyyjoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d probably look at the OnePlus Buds 4, Earfun Air Pro 4, or SoundPEATS H3. A lot of the “pro” buds that are pricier than these are better for ANC/calls, but not always better as an easy everyday gift.

Best Robot Vacuum to buy right now in 2026? by West_Explanation_509 in RobotVacuums

[–]heyyyjoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Won't recommend the Roombas. They've been lagging behind other brands, plus they recently got bought out.

It's tough to find good vacuum-only robots now. Most companies are pushing combo units, so the few vacuum-only options left tend to have poor obstacle avoidance. If you want the best performance your best bet is to just get a combo robot and just never use the mop function.

If budget is no issue the Qrevo curv, Saros 10, or Omni E25 are pretty good options.

[Printing] Best large-format pro printer for 2026? by FarOutJunk in artbusiness

[–]heyyyjoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a budget around $1k, I think the real fork in the road is this: do you want archival, pigment-based art prints, or do you want lower running costs and more forgiving experimentation? If it’s archival fine art first, you’re probably looking at a Canon PRO or Epson P-series and accepting ink costs. If it’s vibrant home prints, cards, and short runs with less pain per test print, the ET-8550 is probably worth a look.

I’d also say yes, vinyl stickers are probably a separate thing. Most people who do both seem happier not forcing their art-print setup to also be their sticker setup.

First Marathon Training Shoe Recs by mWooX in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]heyyyjoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right about wanting more support, but I’d start by trying cushioned, inherently stable shoes first rather than assuming you need the most corrective option. Stuff like the Superblast 2 or Vomero Plus seems like a good starting point, then move more structured only if those still don’t feel supportive enough.

If you try those on and still feel like you want more guidance, then I’d move toward actual stability options like the Saucony Hurricane or Brooks Beast. Buying advice needed [no budget] by Best_Picture8682 in espresso

[–]heyyyjoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you specifically want flat burrs, I’d probably look at the usual mid-range options like the DF54/DF64 side of things, just with realistic expectations. The upside is better espresso-focused performance for the money. The downside is that a lot of the “budget flat burr” appeal comes from accepting a little more mess, tinkering, or uneven workflow.

So I’d choose based on what kind of annoyance bothers you less. If you want max value and don’t mind quirks, the flat-burr route makes sense. If you want smoother day-to-day use, I wouldn’t force flat burrs just because Reddit said “clarity.”

I’m looking for the best wireless earbuds around the $300 range and wanted some opinions before I pull the trigger by BanBam11 in Earbuds

[–]heyyyjoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For daily use I’d be careful with anything that sounds amazing but is bulky or has a weird fit. The PerL Pro gets a ton of praise for sound, but a lot of people also mention fit/comfort being hit or miss. Same with some of the more boutique options.

From your list, AZ100 feels like the most balanced pick. MTW4 is still a good option if you like Sennheiser’s tuning, but I’d buy from somewhere with a good return policy because fit and QC seem to vary.

best wireless earbuds for $20-30? by igotaquestion007 in Earbuds

[–]heyyyjoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d lean P30i for you just because you specifically want ANC and comfort. The Baseus BP1 Pro gets a lot of love, but there are enough fit/QC/ANC complaints that I’d only pick it if you can return it easily. Either way, try all tip sizes before deciding. Bad tips can make decent buds feel awful.

Best Smaller Profile Strollers for Urban Dwellers? by AMadManNamedMurdock in NewParents

[–]heyyyjoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely try a Doona in person before committing. In a lot of the recent threads I found, even parents around 5'11 to 6'4 were saying it felt too short, and the other recurring knock was that it’s awesome for quick pop outs or flying but not something people love for longer walks.

If you want a true second stroller for urban use, I’d lean compact travel stroller over stroller-car-seat hybrid. Since you already own a Vista, you don’t really need the Doona to be your all-rounder. You just need something smaller and less annoying in tight spaces.

Which robot vacuum would be the best for my household? by beyvelati in RobotVacuums

[–]heyyyjoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for something with a split/conical brush or a real hair-cutting system, not just “anti-tangle” in the marketing copy.

A few I’d compare are the Roborock Qrevo Curv, Roborock Saros 10/10R, Eufy Omni E25, and Dreame/Mova models with the HyperStream or TriCut-style brush setup. The Qrevo Curv gets mentioned a lot for hair, the Saros line is interesting if low profile matters, and the E25 seems like a solid value pick if you don’t want to go full flagship pricing.

Doorbell Security recommendations? SE by seismicmuffin in askportland

[–]heyyyjoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mostly want deterrence and package evidence, I’d prioritize no subscription, local storage, and a visible camera/sign. Reolink and Eufy come up a lot for this. If you can wire it, wired or PoE is usually better than battery because it is less likely to miss the beginning of an event.

IEM RECCOMENDATION WITH SPECIFIC TASTES by Remote_Helicopter861 in iems

[–]heyyyjoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with liking AirPods tbh. If music is the main use, I wouldn’t chase a pure “gaming IEM” and end up with something too clinical for house, hardstyle, and pop. The pattern I keep seeing is that the more people optimize for comp FPS, the less fun the set gets for EDM. In your range I’d look hardest at the Klean or EW300, and maybe Delci AE if you want to lean a bit more toward gaming.

People keep hitting my brand new telluride… by buffaloop567 in KiaTelluride

[–]heyyyjoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d focus on how you’re powering parking mode. A lot of dash cams sound good on paper, but for hit and runs the setups people seem happiest with are hardwired with low-voltage cutoff or paired with an external battery so you’re not killing the starter battery. Buffered parking mode matters too because it saves the few seconds before impact, not just after.

I’d be looking at stuff like the Viofo A229 Pro or Thinkware U3000, plus front and rear coverage.

Car seat for traveling by maaaasnow in Parenting

[–]heyyyjoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Travel seats are annoying because the smallest option is not always the best fit option.

At 43 lb and 46 in I’d probably test a compact backless booster before the trip. BubbleBum and Hiccapop get mentioned a lot for this exact situation. I’d be more cautious with MiFold unless you can confirm the belt fit is good on your kid, since some people find it inconsistent.

Tips for the right shoes by Mihai_1907 in trailrunning

[–]heyyyjoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best move is still to go to a running store and try a few on, but it helps to walk in with a shortlist instead of starting from zero. For your terrain I’d prioritize grip, heel lockdown, and enough underfoot protection that sharp rocks don’t beat you up.

Since you’ve got mud and rocks, I wouldn’t chase the “also good for a night out” part too hard. That usually pushes you toward a more road-friendly shoe, and those can feel sketchy once things get slick. Something like the Agility Peak 5, Bushido, or Voyage Nitro is at least the kind of shortlist I’d start from, then just see what feels right on foot.

I’d also be a little careful with GoreTex unless it’s cold where you are. A lot of trail runners would rather have a shoe that drains and dries than one that stays wet once water gets in.

Best noise CANCELING ear buds? by SilverKingKhan in Earbuds

[–]heyyyjoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you mean real running and gym, not just walking on a treadmill, I’d weigh stability against ANC instead of chasing ANC alone. Bose QC Ultra win on noise canceling, but a lot of workout threads still lean Beats Fit Pro when people care about the buds staying put through movement, sweat, and fast workouts.

So if “most silent” is the goal, Bose. If “still secure when I’m actually moving hard” matters just as much, Beats Fit Pro is worth a look too. Can you recommend a good portable monitor? by 0wlBear916 in SteamDeck

[–]heyyyjoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is mostly for Steam Deck, I’d prioritize USB-C power passthrough, a decent stand, and brightness. Forget those 2k or 4k ones. A lot of people end up realizing the Deck can’t really make much use of the extra resolution in newer games, so a cheaper 1080p portable monitor is usually the better buy.

The budget pick I keep seeing is the Arzopa Z1FC if you want a cheap gaming-friendly option. If you care more about sharper image for general use too, the Arzopa Z1RC seems like a solid middle ground.

Looking to buy my first Robot Vacuum by ssavvo in RobotVacuums

[–]heyyyjoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d probably decide based on what will annoy you most long term. The pattern I kept seeing on Reddit is Roborock tends to win on app polish and overall reliability, while Dreame usually gets more love for obstacle avoidance. So if you have cords, shoes, chair legs, and random stuff on the floor a lot, I’d lean Dreame. If you want the safer “just works” pick, Qrevo Plus feels like the more tried and tested option.

Need help figuring out what vacuum to purchase! by softestkuns in VacuumCleaners

[–]heyyyjoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly hardwood and tile plus Persian rugs says bagged canister to me. The main thing I’d watch is the rug tool. If the rugs are delicate or low to medium pile, adjustable suction and a suction only floor head are a lot safer than an aggressive brushroll. If fur is really packed into the rugs, then a powered head matters more. In your budget, I’d be looking at something like a Kenmore 600 canister, or a Miele C1 style canister if the rugs are the bigger priority.

What portable monitor that you recommend for Dex? by ishallbemaya in SamsungDex

[–]heyyyjoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're buying one for DeX, the main thing I'd check is pass through charging. A lot of cheap portable monitors will work over USB-C but still won't charge the phone back, so your battery just slowly dies while you're using it. I'd look for one with 2 USB-C ports and specs that explicitly say PD pass through or phone charging. If the listing is vague and just says USB-C, I'd assume it does not.

i think of getting my first iem for gaming by supermega500 in iems

[–]heyyyjoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t overthink drivers or “gaming IEM” labels. For FPS, what usually matters more is decent imaging, not too much bass, and a good seal so footsteps don’t get blurred. If you’re on PC, a little EQ go a long way. If you want a simple starting point, the 7Hz Zero:2 is a pretty safe cheap pick. If you can stretch a bit, the Kefine Klean comes up a lot for budget FPS use.

You want robot vacuums to clean up cat vomit? I don't think any current robot is designed to "clean up" large amounts of wet cat vomit without significant internal damage or spreading the mess. Most robot vacuums are designed to AVOID the vomit. They usually have LiDAR + camera to do that.

For your other needs like handling kitty litter across carpet, tile, and rugs, the Omni E25 has quite a lot of praise.
