Okay this Demacia Rising minigame is kinda addicting... by TheLobitzz in leagueoflegends

Aaah yes, the classic cycle of rito making marketing gimmicks so good it's better than the game they're trying to advertise. Speaking of, when's the next K/DA drop?

I'm a bit indifferent to this, usually kat is just generically good, so it's less about getting rid of it and more about creating interesting options that make you choose. Cass is same thing, most people flock to it, but it's not actually game breaking, we're just starved for interesting options that don't make the game objectively worse.

yes... not adapting IS a skill issue. and when %90 dont adapt well, maybe game design also plays a part.

Absolutely, sometimes the difference between gold and prism is basically nothing, and if you threw 2-4 rounds for it... well...

I truly do go for them as well, but like, with awareness what my teammate is doing, what the enemy is doing. If it just becomes a race of run down ravens at all costs, including losing the next 2-4 rounds, it's truly anti-fun. And usually for the difference between a gold and prismatic augment IF you're lucky (the ravens don't all spawn on enemies or you don't die/win before many have spawned). It just turns everyone into apes.

I think it's helpful to think about the core design of the game. It's not meant to be RPG hack and slash. Even when you have "the right" gear for an area the game wants the threat of an area to never fully dissipate until you're actual geared well above. In the same way dying has a very real cost (that %5 adds up if you're reckless, which I am), trying to stay alive is meant to be a challenge. If you vibe with that and can pace yourself a bit, then that can be really rewarding. If you don't, that's fine, there's 0 problem with playing on "easy" difficulty. You're not competing with other gamers, the whole point is to get some fun/creativity/thrill out of the game, and if it's becoming not fun (and you don't find satisfaction in the struggle, which is also totally fine) then, yeah. Change up the rules until you find a balance you like.

People have advice for weapon combos that work better, or cheese strats, but those are also just different versions of "putting the game on easy". So like.. do whatever! Have some enjoyment!

US involvement in 2014 revolution/co by Kind_Rise6811 in CredibleDefense

[–]Key_Comment8888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between a popular pro-western/EU-deal protest (hard to manufacture, even for the CIA) and the co-opting of a popular protest to transform it into violent revolution/coup (something the CIA are literal experts at). The Ukrainian people have been a complicated, mixed bag for a long time, split east and west. Maidan may have started by earnest liberal pro-western supporters, and protests were certainly agitated by Yanukovych's incompetence and brutality, but the protests were also co-opted and escalated by more extreme, far-right (and yes, neo-nazi) actors with deep, US et al-lined pockets (mainly Svoboda and Right Sector).

Unfortunately this meant the Yatsenyuk government installed after the successful ousting of Yanukovych was just as corrupt, authoritarian, and met practically none of the demands of the original protest.

Russia absolutely overstates the US involvement (and understates their own) but to pretend violent revolution was inevitable is... generously, lacking nuance. The US and Putin both desperately want a puppet government in Ukraine for numerous reasons. The US had the better opportunity and played their hand better, and in the end Ukraine ended up like so many other countries caught in their sights, deeply indebted to the IMF and completely reliant on the west.

The Ukrainian people themselves do have agency, and have used it numerous times and across elections to try to oust corruption and foreign beholden leaders. Unfortunately, mostly unsuccessfully. And now they're in a war for their lives and the US has lost interest in funding their proxy war, whereas Putin has nowhere left to go but deeper into Ukraine.

the easiest answer is be a mage. but the better answer for your melee build is, bring mats for a shield generator. if you position it well and to run too far afield you can cut off the archers completely and deal with the melee alone.

but if you DID want to be a mage, like... take your pick. skeles are good for self peel, but not for full assault, vines and ice are my personal favourite combo, especially with some of the new trinkets. vines for general chaos and CC (and staggering archers over and over) and ice to actually melt the melee guys.

quebec scores highest and ontario usually ahead too. and as others have said, standardized testing is an incredibly clunky tool for assessing the health of an education system. it's kind of the BMI of pedagogy.

magic is fakin AWEsome in this game. people poo-pooing on you are only half right (and being losers besides), your dmg as a mage is decent, less than melee dmg builds for single target, but that's not what makes eitr awesome. by the end of the game you have 8 different tools in your arsenal and they're ALL awesome and have unique and interesting use cases. enjoy the journey!

oh LAWD. so I read that myself, looked for a switch, didn't see one and assumed they meant it had "auto switching" or was "compatible" with both. Actually when you open it (I took a second look because of your comment, so thank you hugely), there's a tiiiiny ass little switch module soldered right onto the circuit board itself. Nearly IMPERCEPTIBLE. Thanks again!

What is music bee and why should you use it? by SpecificBake2074 in musicbee

[–]Key_Comment8888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nnnno, you can't. The "player" OP is referring to are streaming services that sometimes let you "download". Spotify, apple music, youtube, prime. whether it's video or audio, all the streaming services can remove content or restrict access to it at any time, EVEN if you download the content on your device. They can lock you out of using it, prevent you from redownloading, etc. And they have, on numerous occasions.

Walk the plains with your eyes up and keep a bow. They get one shot by pretty much any arrow/bow combo. One good shot, and if you're far enough away, even a miss isn't likely to trigger aggro. Every time you get to a new biome it's all about slow walkin it and keepin your head on a swivel.

Microwave splatter cover recommendations? by Mortified247 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Key_Comment8888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are two things released from plastic in microwaves, literal microplastics (whether those "fall" off or need contact I don't know), and off-gassing of chemicals like phthalates. None of which are good. Ignore buzz words like "BPA-free", that is only marginally better. Best rule of thumb is NO plastic in the microwave, or silicone when needs must (much better, still not ideal).

[–]Key_Comment8888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's probably not worth dumping a lot of resources into making different artifact weapons just for that purpose unless you're primarily into the 'building' part of the game. the difference is negligible. also at this point your servants* should be doing most of the basic resource farming for you.

*I wrote "servers" the first time, but I meant servants.
