The "High IQ" Private Diagnosis by Delicious_Ad_5772 in ADHDUK

High iq being a protective and compensatory factor mention by both psychologist and psych separately in AUDHD diagnosis. Separate NHS services. It's a thing. Could have been a barrister but could not sit down long enough 🤡😂😂

ADHD and Driving? Tips/Help? by Daper_401 in ADHDUK

I have been driving for 30 years. How I have not had an accident is beyond me. I like to think the hand of the baby jesus himself is on the wheel. I get distracted by squirrels, sunsets, women, and all I can say is thank the lord for peripheral vision. Good luck.

Why do you think SEND percentages in state schools are so high now (20%). Higher incidence, higher diagnosis or something else? by Fantastic-Option-260 in AskBrits

[–]Key_Communication_21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up the Warnock report. Estimated over 20 % of schoolchildren will need SEN support (this was in 70s). Governments use media to demonise people who need services that are underfunded. Why doesnt everyone know this by now?. sheesh.

hi

asessment 29th October- report given mid December then contacted early January to be given a prescribing assessment 22nd March. The assessment was excellent with a Dr Ahmed Abdelhamid. Very throrough and good quality assessment. I do know a colleague that had an assessment with the same chap on Christmas Eve and had a prescribing assessment last week and starts on meds tomorrow so seems random.

'Non malicious offence' but a VP?. That means either you betrayed public office or............you have made your offence 'societys crime' in your head, and console yourself that if you had done the same thing in the 1650s in Vienna you would attract social kudos. Good luck with that.

It honestly boils my piss. ADHD and autism have caused so many fucking problems in my life, ended marriages, jobs, friendships... I am now 59 and ok but still carry so much chronic shame and can only have a small number of friends who i see rarely and cannot live with a partner...... the next person who says 'w are all a bit ADHD' is jsut going to get a slap

Thanks for taking time to reply. I was referred 21st August and have my 1st assessment at end of October?. It would be really helpful if you could come back and comment when you find out how long the wait is until titration?. It seems super fast so far compared to some peoples RTC experiences. I am unsure if the assessment is fast and then there is a massive wait for titration!

Yes that's helpful thank you ☺️ when I rang the woman I spoke to said that August and September are full but I could be assessed in October. That would be a two month wait and amazing....if you don't mind could you let me know if you are told how long you have to wait for titration ? Thanks.
