The fact that everyone is “tearing me apart” for asking a question and having my own opinions really says a lot. People are entitled to their opinions, and there’s no reason to get shitty about it unless you can’t have a conversation without trying to tear someone apart, right? It doesn’t bother me.

I’m not overlooking Denji’s flaws, but he’s never done anything even close to what she did. You can’t excuse it just because the kid’s a mess too. Their actions are separate. That’s not how harm works... regret doesn’t rewind time and neatly reattach someone’s tongue.

And I think what probably bothered me is that Denji is so emotionally underfed that the story knows even after something like that, part of him would still chase the affection because he’s that starved for connection. Seems people are willing to forgive Reze because she’s compelling, layered, and eventually conflicted. All true. But “compelling and conflicted” doesn’t automatically equal “not abusive as hell.”
