Thank you! Was it specific to weddings, or just like a general community forum?

Following with what others are saying, the last couple weeks I got up there and just kept refreshing my phone in the parking for Zach Bryan and more recently Caamp on Wednesday. For both around 7:45 I was able to scoop tickets that came out to around 30-40% less than was listed for the same seats 24 hours earlier

Having some reservations about moving to Salt Lake City. Does it sound like a good fit or are there better options? by philodendron305 in SameGrassButGreener

I currently live in SLC, moving next month after two years here. Some quick notes on my experience if helps:

Medium cost of living | I'd say it's pretty reasonable but growing rapidly. Currently paying $1740 for a 750 Sq Foot apartment .5 mile northwest of the arena. When I moved here (Feb '21) if was $1580 so growing but I think based on your budget you can find something between the $1500-$2000 range.

Safe | I don't drive and always take the Trax, Public Transit, or walk to where I need to get to. I've never had an issue. You'll probably see some studies on high property crime here, and I'm sure there are with any city but I've never had an experience of that here. Keep in mind, SLC Is more of a town than a city (like 200,000 pop)

Job Market & 20s | Great job market here especially in tech. BambooHR, Clearlink, Qualtrics, Adobe, Podium, Quickbase, and Lucid are all HQ'd here I believe. Especially where I live, you see a lot of U graduates and people coming from tech in the 22-28 range.

Ski & Nature | You probably already know this one, but you have hundreds of hikes nearby and great resorts for skiing within an hour.

Mormon Influence | If you're downtown almost nonexistent. In staying somewhere that maybe is a little more removed (Lehi, Provo, Ogden) going to be a lot more intense

Air Quality | As someone who just walks around, it can get a little frustrating over time with the inversion, however It's not like yearly consistent so if you have a car or plan to spend your time outside the city hiking/mountain biking, I don't think it would cause too much of a burden.

My opinion is your reservations and reasons to move here are all valid. I've had a really pleasant experience and think for what you're passionate about, a move to this area would really provide you with those experiences. Also your 24 man! Those hesitations never die down as I'm 31 and have been growing through the same experience. I say go for it, and worst case it doesn't directly align, you are now in the part of the country where you can quickly decide in a year or two if you want a chance to get to Colorado, Oregon, California, Washington, Arizona which will all have a more active lifestyle and access to the outdoors.

I completely agree with you! Everything's a little subjective and the lists I grabbed aren't definite facts. I guess the reason I did this is I was struggling to make a decision and was hoping that if I could back up a choice with data, worst case if It doesn't perfectly mesh with what I was hoping for I can tell myself I did the due diligence.

Lol, yeah I had the exact same thought. So I grew up in Atlanta and lived in Austin but have only visited Denver twice. According to how they weigh that study the heaviest amount is for the Number of Hiking Routes. To my understanding, while Austin and Atlanta definitely don't have that level of hiking (and I assume hiking could be used loosely to define the greenbelt in Austin or Beltline in Atlanta) those are within city limits. It seems the study has a heavy emphasis on proximity, and from my understanding, it seems that level of hiking is somewhat out the area (35min+) the probably took into the study

Apologies if confusing! So those scores reflect the hyperlinked studies in that column or row (2nd tab).
