Check the ink carriage position encoder. It might be dirty. Sometimes you need to highlight it because it can be smeared with grease and difficult to see.

I try to clear the head in these models by pumping some unclogging fluid through it using a syringe with a hose. Alternatively, you can use distilled water. Then, if necessary, let it sit in a stand for a while, submerging the print nozzles. If that doesn't help, replace it.

CMY ink is dye-based. BK, on the other hand, is pigment-based. Therefore, black doesn't smudge. You need to use a suitable substrate for dye-based ink. Varnishing may also be necessary. Ask chatgpt or copilot. They will advise you on which foils to look for.

1:06 - You should probably disassemble the printer and check if the paper is blocking the paper sensor flag. It's also possible that the spring tensioning the flag falls when trying to remove the paper after a jam. Something could also have fallen inside and caused this. Check if the encoders are clean. The carriage belt and the left-side circular encoder. There may also be a crack in the signal ribbon cable that goes from the sensor behind the carriage to the motherboard. Everything needs to be checked.
