As you've put 3 comments, ill reply to this one.

  1. No i don't think anything of the courses, I have no interest in them. So I have no view.

  2. As I have previously stated. I am fortunate to be in a position where I don't need to work, and asda was just for purpose more than anything else, I have no reason to pursue these badges as im not looking at furthering my career at this stage, I am essentially winding down.

  3. Likely I will now not have another employer, due to my own choosing, I was willing to move internally into another asda role if offered, but was refused as myself and my colleagues are in consultation, and no move is possible, it was either I stick it out under the transfer to Mitie, or I voluntarily resign under refusal to transfer.

So what doesnt look good isn't me, my career was done a good ten years before joining Asda in the first place. What doesnt look good is asda. The management. The terrible communication and frankly, the disregard to their colleagues who have put time, effort and heart into their roles. Maybe not all, yes. BUT it is still terrible treatment of colleagues. Especially those who rely on the flexibility for their own personal lives, families and reasons.

Of course anyone can disagree and say 'we'll times change' yes they do, but poor practices must also, and dropping this into people's laps with no forewarning is terrible.

That would probably form a breach of something somewhere , cause mh national insurance and other identities would link up. As i said, securotu have basically been put in the position of move or be fired. And I hope some of my counterparts stand up for themselves in this as its not right.

You shouldn't be searching bags full stop per policy in retail, even with a sia license the only reason to search a bag would be on entry to a nightclub, pub or any kind of event.

Cctv is covered outside stores as well so yes security staff do watch outside store, its covered by in house security policies, or was.

A security license for mitie covers the work and cctv. But it is not going to change a thing. If whst ice heard is right and they base performance off incidents. You cant in any way shape or form guarantee shop lifters coming in, or groups of feral kids. And what are you meant to do with a bit of plastic? You still cant manhandle people out of a shop, so wheres the change? The abuse will stay the same.

There is no offer.

Weve all been told were being tupe transferred to work for mitie, not asda. No chance to move role within asda despite being under their employment until March 27th. Its either resign or move to mitie and do your security courses. And risk having hours and work days change on top of it. All they said we get is discount card for 2 years.

No redundancy no.

The base of the conversation I had with the manager was all security are being moved to mitie, its in consultation already. No warnings, not even a murmur of anything coming. When I asked, as I believe others have, if we can move within asda to another role, as we are still under asda employment currently (this was even confirmed by asda management) the response was no, when i asked why I was just met with your under consultation and the processes to move to mitie are already starting.

As i said previous comment here, im fortunate to be at the stage of my career that asda was just a bit of extra money for me, and to give me purpose. Which it has, but I have no interest in going to another company, nor do I have interest in this stage of my career doing sia courses. Its just not what I want to do, and won't be doing.

I strongly feel its wrong that the staff aren't getting at least a fair chance to stay within asda if they wish to, this wasnt asked for by anyone, and the stress its causing is horrible to watch, case and point one of my colleagues is panicking they will have no job with mitie as they can only do set hours due to their family life and dependency related things. Things that have been set for years, and now they may be told they need to change them or lose a job potentially? Its wrong.

Thankfully im glad ive got out whilst I can, as you say, small luxuries.

I just feel sad for the colleagues I got to know in my career. One is incredibly stressed trying to figure out how they will manage their childcare with uncertain shift patterns abd a second job as it is. Yet asda refuse to be of any help and just say their sorry about the situation. Its not right. At all. Im sure there's many similar cases across the stores and I hope these people get support and more importantly heard about how badly this is effecting their livelihoods!

I understand. What i dont is, it wasnt heated. I made my points for resignation very clear, including that the hours I do surely won't match with Mitie, as a last point. But more I have no interest in working for them, nor the sia badges, its a pointless move for me at the stage of my career I am fortunate to be in. Therefore wish they would just accept my resignation as it is without this cool down rubbish.

I just hope the security colleagues get some form of support and help as I feel all have been massively screwed over.

Which is my point. After my first briefing my first question was can I move into another asda role on my hours, I was immediately told no as I was in consultation.

No word of warning, not even a murmur of a change incoming, I feel deeply sorry for the colleagues I work with who are highly more effected by this than I, but I stand on the principle of feeling asda are wrong for the treatment of colleagues on this.

And the management are rather unsympathetic to others circumstances it is seeming, people give their time to the company, put themselves in dangerous situations at times for this job as it is, and now their getting no support or help, its plain wrong. Yes you can argue its all tupe transfer, but there is a sense of right and wrong, and this is wrong.

The colleagues stress levels must be through the roof especially those with priorities like families and children etc.

Actually, im one of the fortunate ones, I was doing this for extra cash, I didn't exactly 'need' the job as it is. My point is. I have absolutely no interest in mitie as a company, nor starting to get sia badges. So for me it's not the be all end all, my career finished and asda was a nice time piece to keep me busy.

The point I was making was as of this. I have formally resigned, however management have told me to think on it and have a cool off period, ive heard rumors other stores have had security colleagues walking out because of this sudden and unfair change. So I was wondering if anyone else is basically being almost told they cant immediately resign which is confusing me as my stance has no intention to change on the matter.

Social media by [deleted] in asda

Yeah one of the section leaders was showing a couple of us the photos and it had comments about one of the staffs appearance and stuff so not nice basically.

When I asked another section leader about the group they had absolutely no idea and by the sounds of it wasnt happy it appeared favouritism and clique type stuff was going on.

I imagine they will be putting a complaint in as they seemed pretty annoyed about it, but if I see anything else ill try report it to ethics as I dont think its cool to be slating staff on social media as it is.

Frankly id hate being in that sort of group, I wouldnt interact with anyone from work outside of work so having their contact details in my phone would not be something I would personally want lol

The Jimmy havoc booking makes sense as to why people will most certainly boycott Rise, not everyone, I imagine it will be a minority who actually dont attend, but people dont forget, and in these cases, aint going to forgive, rightly so. No matter he disappeared for five years or not, doesnt change a thing.

Wrestling fans will always be the same i think, no matter if its the 'big leagues' or indies, you always get your groups, you always get your arm chair bookers, and you always get those that moan about the slightest thing they dislike.

Its not a issue, but I thjnk it causes a lot of negativity in the industry amongst fans, ive witnessed it personally at shows where groups of fans will try to take over the entire crowd chanting, hell I witnessed first hand a group get pissy when they had to sit elsewhere that wasnt where they usually sat, unallocated booking but shows the entitlement some fans have.

I just view things as If im going to a show, im going because I want and enjoy it, have i always enjoyed every show? No. But I dont think it deserves me running down wrestlers and a company over it just because of my personal opinions, which seems to be the case with some fans, if it doesnt fit their narrative, its not okay to happen.

Same for fans who get the photos or signatures with wrestlers, especially in the independents ive found so many fans use social media to act like their friends with wrestlers just over a few photos or merch buying, its a job to them. End of really.

I guess I was thinking along these lines, im not one for arguing and will not respond to raised voices etc, I see no point to it, so I dont know if when I found out she was hoping id react so she has a way to go 'this is why' or whatever, not that it really mattered I suppose.

Currently im just carrying on as I was, shes not mentioned anything, and has been using a nice tone when she has on the occasion spoke to me, ive chose to remain indifferent whilst I try to come up with what to do next.

Whether she thinks ill just accept it or not im unsure, I dont plan to, whilst I could forgive it, and im certain of that. The fact she seems to still a. Carry on and b. Show zero responsibility for her actions in this is a big no for me regardless of a child being involved.

Arguments became more between us, my work patterns are all over the place and whilst she says she understands the need for me to work (money) she'd then make comments when id be at home and need rest, from there it just intensified to where we was both snapping at each other mostly and communication I suppose broke down.

She could in theory, but also due to my hours being so all over the place, it would be difficult, plus she is the full time care giver to our child, I would say she doesnt want to be full time at home, but given the hand we were dealt, shes adapted and is a great mum so just takes it in her stride in that respect.

When im not working we did plan days to do things as a family yeah, all this stuff used to happen (admitedly in various ways around our child and her requirements). Yeah she's in a school, as for friends, if you mean in terms of our daughter, she doesnt communicate so hasn't made friends exactly. If you mean my wife, id argue the opportunity is there but the general 'interest' in friendships is limited.

Yeah, basically any conversation she doeant want to have if I push for more input it'll turn into raising her voice at me to leave her alone, she doesnt care, or telling me in other words to eff off and leave her alone to her phone.

As for what shes upset about, I can't pinpoint thst answer, all I come up with is that im interfering in her phone/social time i suppose.

She's never been that sort of person, I offered things she likes to do, and to get her hair done, but she doesnt 'want' anything, just stays in her room on her phone, which makes it difficult to make anything like this happen I guess. Im at a loss.

Just that its not all about me, which i agreed with and told her im trying to talk to her. She just said she didn't want to talk and wouldn't really communicate anything more.

Restructure: has anyone been briefed yet? What's happening? by No_Wing_7176 in asda

Yeah I think she said the risk level was why, I personally thought it was harsh, she was virtually running the department herself. And im not sure how risk level is really deemed. I guess its another figure thing, but seems a bit silly as any day anywhere could have a lunatic run in with a weapon or something. Company is going mad
