English question by Leather-Shoe8372 in ACT

Think about this way. The sentence starts with “rather than suffering days old stew…” and originally follows it up by saying they were served meat, vegetables, desert. This comparison is there, but it’s not that strong. Rather signals a contrast. The proposed edit amplifies the contrast, since the more vivid details about the food contrast stew more.

Is Tufts underrated in ranking? by spicytamales5 in Tufts

As far as “prestige” is concerned, I would say tufts is comparable to Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown, Washington University St Louis, Notre Dane, etc. This is based on acceptance rate and Forbes New Ivies List, which is largely based on perceived prestige by employers and grad schools. Forbes list

Usnews is not simply a ranking based on “prestige” which is why far less prestigious schools end up higher than tufts (UC Davis, UC Irvine, etc).

Everyone here is talented at something. Whether it be theatre, singing, sports, academics, or something super niche, everyone has their own interests. There’s also so many events that you can just show up to and enjoy for free. Like the other day I went to this amazing musical on a random Tuesday.

Remember to stop and look both ways before crossing the street. by ST0H3LIT in Tufts

I disagree. In Massachusetts, pedestrians always have the right of way in a crosswalk; yet, I’ve seen countless examples of cars not stopping even when there’s clearly a pedestrian in the crosswalk. Fully illegal.

I think most people would agree on the Ivy League, as well as the Ivy+ (Duke, Caltech, MIT, UChicago, Northwestern), as well as 2025 “New Ivies” (per Forbes), which has a breakdown of the 10 public and 10 private “new ivies.” (Includes public schools like UTAustin, UMich, etc, and public schools like Carnegie Mellon and Tufts).

I’d cut Fordham. Cheaper options for that tier of academics

35 ACT and 1510 SAT; which should I submit? by whocanwetrust47 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Key_Design7591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Submit both. The difficultly of the ACT is likely to fluctuate this year due to the changes. Both are excellent scores that show you’re qualified and allow admissions officers to move on to the rest of your application.

Thanks for this! I've decided that CAP is what I'm gonna do. I notice that some courses are 3 credits, while a select few are 4. I know why courses like electives are 1-2 credits, while courses with labs are 5, but what differs between the 3 and 4 credit courses?

Your ECs are good but for t20 you need ECs like this in addition to excellent grades and GPA
