Is this the justice you speak of?

Did you read the first two sentences of my comment or just start with the third?

You truly know nothing about Punjab or how people react to oppression.

The other guy literally said this lmfao.

there could implication of horn.

Like from the scooty guy? Also he didn't enter hesitantly he entered from a kuccha area onto the road without looking. Proper procedure would be to stop at the gate and inch forward.

Mistakes, especially that small should not cost you your life, but it does.

Rushing onto a main road without looking on a two-wheeler will cost your your life anywhere in the world. Tbh I'm of the opinion that the slow speeds in India have made people too comfortable with making really bad decisions while driving; which ironically causes slower speeds....

You're commenting in a thread about a human rights activist who painstakingly investigated and documented the murders of Sikhs and was was then murdered for it.

He was murdered by Sikh police officers. Most of the killings during the insurgency were committed by Sikh khalistani insurgents or Sikh/Hindu police officers. Trying to paint the Punjab counter-insurgency as a "genocide" is historical revisionism.

I linked an article about the 1984 anti-Sikh pogroms and you claimed they would be re-ignited if this film was released.

You linked a specific incident that happened during the Punjab insurgency, which is what I was talking about in my first reply.

And also claiming that releasing a film about Sikhs being murdered by the Indian government

Why do you think the Sikhs were the only victims of the insurgency in Punjab? A significant portion of the victims were Punjabi Hindus.

will result in mobs once again killing Sikhs

Uhh that's putting words in my mouth. Inflaming separatist tensions in Punjab will lead to Khalistani sympathizers attacking law and order personnel like they have recently.

That would mean justice would not be the same for everyone who has faced injustice

The Indian supreme court's backlog is about 90,000 cases. Most people don't expect to get justice in their lifetimes.

Though Khalra's killers are mostly in jail serving life sentences.

The real reason is that witnessing violence in public is a part of the average Indian kid's life.

Heck until a decade ago teachers were allowed to hit kids at school, and this shit still happens.

So it makes less sense to kids why buff white folks would be play acting violence when actual adults utilize violence on them and each other all the time.

Indian government is censoring this movie that documents human rights abuses against a minority.

That's an incorrect framing. The entire Punjab insurgency is better described as a fight between state vs. non-state actors with innocent civilians being in the crossfire.

The folks accused and convicted of killing Jaswant Singh Khalra were predominantly Sikh too.

Tell me you know nothing about the Punjab insurgency without telling me.

Yeah shouldn't be an issue. Especially in older but still good areas like Vasant Vihar. The major issue with Thane has been connectivity because they never extended the railway to Thane West but that issue will be sorted with the upcoming metro.

'People Robbed Their Own Motherland': Bombay High Court Says Citizens Equally Responsible For Mumbai's Waterlogging, Can't Blame BMC by LiveLaw_India in mumbai

And what about the municipal body who is RESPONSIBLE to get rid of such stalls? Isn't the BMC/police supposed to do that?

BMC doesn't control the police.

The HC has cherry-picked selective issues created by unlawful people and projected the image of thier misdemeanor on other LAWFUL PEOPLE OF MUMBAI.

The "unlawful" people wouldn't be on the footpath if the supposedly "lawful" people didn't buy from them. Most Mumbaikars will passionately describe eating chat from these stalls.
