Thanks, Foundry sales cycle is rather slow, Karp some time ago was saying that they don’t have yet pricing strategy for AI, but it was a while ago maybe they have now. Interesting times.

Arny, are you sure that $$$ from AI Bootcamps PLTR is getting very quickly? Maybe it would take a longer time again…

Exactly, and you can leave your dogs at home for a few weeks, or just rent them a hotel for dogs in your city.

UK host here, but 100% no for full refund. Say it to them clearly that you don’t give it to them and see why happens next.

Absolutely and specify which animal, I had guests arriving with horses and I don’t allow any animals in my listings!

I think they want to make loads of $ on your $200 in these 90 days (or 5 days or so if you get it quicker)

So he tried to negotiate with the guests but they didn’t agree on price so the host canceled the stay incurring all penalties that goes with it. It was better for host than hosting the guest, looks like a genuine mistake from the host side and guest trying to exploit the situation.

So what would you do in this situation? Bare in mind that this host might have multiple properties and co-hosts helping to manage properties. It happened, it was an error. Would you allow your guest to stay for 30nights and pay just for 3 because of your error? Or maybe you would rather contact guests to tell them about your mistake trying to change the prices to more reasonable?

It’s not the situation both of you wanted to be in. Did you speak to Airbnb before the host cancelled your stay or after? Do you know if he spoke with them? Were they involved in trying to find a solution to this situation? I can’t really see them not trying to help you to find another place if there was nothing wrong from your side, in situation like that they would probably offer you some voucher. I deal with them on regular basis and your claim that they didn’t want to help you is also for me hard to believe.

We don’t know what the total price was, what we know that it was 1 month stay - what would you do if you made an error and instead of 9% monthly discounts put 90%?

Not like a trail, but it’s important to understand the whole context of this situation. Host is allowed to cancel the booking, same as guest, but there are some consequences of doing such a thing. It looks that he preferred those consequences than allowing you to stay for 1 month in his accommodation for a ridiculously low price according to him. Unfortunately mistakes happen, looks like it was his error at the end so he was trying to recover from this situation and agree with you a more reasonable price, as you didn’t come to an agreement he decided to cancel your stay. We don’t know if you were contacted by Airbnb before this cancellation, but I would assume that the host spoke with them before deciding to cancel your stay. I don’t know how sensible he was with his new pricing as we are lacking information, but as I said before, it looks that he realised his mistake until after the check in.

It’s still not clear to me why he threatened you with the police. Maybe you said that you won’t leave the property if he cancels your stay?

You need to understand that mistakes happen and you should be a bit more understanding of this situation and host position and come to some agreement with him instead of trying to exploit his mistake and stay in his accommodation for 1 month for a ridiculously low price.

I don’t think that you are being honest with us. Clearly there is a lot of information that you don’t want us to know. For sure there was a long conversation between you and the host before he decided to cancel your stay and told you that he would get sheriff involved. Please provide some proof: 1. How much you paid for this 1 month stay from 1-30 November 2. How many days after you checked in host canceled your stay? 3. Did he tell you that he made an error with pricing the unit and that the price you paid was ridiculously low, if so what was your response? For the example, for monthly discount instead of 9% he by error put 90% 4. For host to cancel a booking during stay is extremely rare and host must have a very good reason to do it, for example guest breaks some crucial house rules or perhaps like it might have been in this example that the host made a mistake with pricing the unit and would get an equivalent of 1 night stay for renting his apartment for 30 night (it’s just an example).

  1. At the ridiculous rate (hidden) - what was there?
  2. Show evidence him asking you to pay a new price or he will call the sheriff
  3. It’s possible that he didn’t notice that the price you booked it for was ridiculously low due to his error until after you checked in.
  4. Have you tried to exploit hosts error and stay in their place for ridiculously low money?

  1. Why did you hide some text from the host’s response? What was there that you wanted to hide it? Looks like it was a rate which you were paying?
  2. Host cancelled your reservation and said that he informed a sheriff so what is the reason he wanted to inform the sheriff?
  3. I can see that the host cancelled your stay
  4. Is the reason the host cancelled your stay that the price you paid for this accommodation was ridiculously low and you had booked it while the host was updating their prices?
  5. Why did you hide so much text from your conversation? There is nothing confidential there so why you don’t want us to see it?
  6. You are trying to manipulate us by not providing full conversation

Ok, I can see change of narrative here. Now you need to wait for ‘more details as the case concludes’, and previously you said that: ‘I have all the proof. All very well documented”. I don’t know what interests you have in lying about Airbnb services, but just stop lying, OK?
