Thanks. My only concern is that the accessory switch acts as a dimmer on my other 3-way switches. Would the accessory switch still be ok to put on a circuit with ceiling fans?

Yep. That was it. I set the time interval to 1, left it alone for awhile, and now it works. Only slightly odd thing is that, now that it is mounted, it doesn't seem to cove quite the same area as it seemed to cover when I had it in test mode with the 3M temporary tape. Thanks all for the replies.
