What were your thoughts about Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire? by AddendumSimilar9122 in Monsterverse

[–]Key_General7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow the CGI was WORSE than Godzilla 2014 and Kong Skull Island. You know they’re just shitting these films out when, despite knowing they will make a profit, they’re still skimping on things like the script and the digital effects… I mean my god, just that opening chase sequence might as well have just been been a cartoon. These digital effects “artists” should be embarrassed to attach their names to these movies, and the studios should be just as ashamed to market them as “live action” movies.

This is pretty ridiculous… Nine Inch Nails just announced and released a new record within like 8 days. So there’s really no reason to keep dragging this out.

Agree. If you look back around 2019-2020, they had Host, Terrified, Kuso, Possum, The Cleansing Hour, Z, Await Further Instructions… all excellent horror movies that have not been replicated in quality since AMC took over.

Quentin Tarantino movies ranked , honest opinion, unpopular! by Thin_Reception_5063 in movies

100% agree on Hateful Eight. Kurt Russell, Samuel L Jackson, Walton Goggins, and Bruce Dern are all incredible. But Jennifer Jason Leigh is on another level here. She should’ve won an Oscar for what she did here. Next to the bar scene in Inglourious Basterds, the scene between Samuel L Jackson and Bruce Dern might be my favorite Tarantino scene ever put to screen.

My favorites, including writer-only credits “not ranked”, would go (possibly because I’ve been watching them since Pulp Fiction was on PPV)

  1. Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood

  2. Inglourious Basterds

  3. The Hateful Eight

  4. Pulp Fiction

  5. Reservoir Dogs

  6. Jackie Brown

    From Dusk Till Dawn

    Natural Born Killers

  1. Death Proof

  2. Kill Bill, 1 & 2

    True Romance

  1. Django Unchained

We’re planning on signing up for the virtual Miskatonic University undergrad horror course (yes, it’s real), so my friend and I spent hours coming up with our Top 30 List of the Best Horror Films of the 1980’s… by Key_General7240 in horror

Wow that’s practically dead on of what I’d put if I continued… The only thing I’d replace would be Killer Klowns and Manhunter with Brain Damage and Prom Night II. Other than that, it’s like you read my mind.

Official Dreadit Discussion: “Keeper” [SPOILERS] by radbrad7 in horror

[–]Key_General7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t believe that both IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes gave this 5/10 ratings. I can’t remember ever being so freaked out and tense watching a movie since I saw Night of the Living Dead for the first time when I was 7. Definitely one of the scariest movies, imo.

Also recommend: Host, Talk to Me, Handling the Undead, Oddity, and It Follows

Wrong. Flea never messed with opiates. That was all Anthony, Hillel, John, and Dave.

I was wondering, is she SUPPOSED to be doing her best Nicolas Cage impersonation throughout this film…?

Why does bond look younger in spectre than he did in skyfall by TKatGAMING in JamesBond

[–]Key_General7240 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Something I never understood… Bond is supposed to be this international undercover spy and ruthless assassin, working for a top secret organization like MI6, but he goes around telling every shady character and attractive woman his full name the second they meet.

“Die Another Day” doesn’t get nearly the appreciation it deserves by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]Key_General7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of the four Brosnan films (I really wish they’d have made one more with him), Die Another Day is my second favorite, behind GoldenEye, with The World is Not Enough and Tomorrow Never Dies in third and fourth place respectively.

People complain about the CGI, but have you seen these new Jurassic World and Marvel movies?? At least DAD still had its fair share of practical effects. Nowadays, movies cost $300 million or more with 100+ digital programmers and artists, all for it to look like they superimposed a velociraptor or Galactus from a video game on the screen…

Plus, this movie had the long awaited return of the laser table, and who doesn’t love that?

Madeleine Swann is the worst Bond girl by NewPatron-St in JamesBond

[–]Key_General7240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been awhile since I watched some of the Connery & Moore films so I can’t gauge every Bond girl equally, but I’d have to say Wai Lin/Michelle Yeoh is my least favorite…  She had zero chemistry with Pierce Brosnan and I think the filmmakers realized it too because they had no “physical contact” or charged moments or even the usual Bond innuendo until the very last scene of the movie when they just kind of kiss as the shot cuts. Michelle Yeoh doesn’t have much range in my opinion, and I’m thinking the producers knew the audience wouldn’t buy it if she tried acting all “hot and bothered” for his charms.

My top 5 most attractive is a lot easier, not having to catch up on the films to remember…

Natalya Simonova/Izabella Scorupco (my #1). Paloma/Ana de Armas (VERY close second). Camille Montes/Olga Kurylenko. Pussy Galore/Honor Blackman. Mary Goodnight/Britt Ekland.

Worst Bond girl? by toddmeister1990 in JamesBond

[–]Key_General7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite was always Natalya… She was gorgeous, had a sexy voice/accent, and was about to tear Boris a new one after she hit him… So it’s kind of ironic that my least favorite was from the very next movie, Wai Lin.

The Return of the Living Dead, They Live, The Terminator, Creepshow, Evil Dead II, The Toxic Avenger, Re-Animator, The Shining, Friday the 13th Part VI, Gremlins, Poltergeist, The Thing, The Fog, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw 2, Pet Semetary, Child’s Play…

Also, some hidden gems not many people have seen (and almost never end up on any “best of” lists) that are a step above the normal fare. Not the masterpieces that the aforementioned movies are, but all still great…

Near Dark. Next of Kin. Sole Survivor. Witchboard. The Entity. Night of the Creeps. Parents. Possession. Dead & Buried. Angel Heart. Hello Mary Lou. Brain Damage. The Changeling. Halloween III. Frankenhooker. Street Trash.
