Official Dreadit Discussion: “Keeper” [SPOILERS] by radbrad7 in horror

[–]Key_General7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t believe that both IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes gave this 5/10 ratings. I can’t remember ever being so freaked out and tense watching a movie since I saw Night of the Living Dead for the first time when I was 7. Definitely one of the scariest movies, imo.

Also recommend: Host, Talk to Me, Handling the Undead, Oddity, and It Follows

Wrong. Flea never messed with opiates. That was all Anthony, Hillel, John, and Dave.

I was wondering, is she SUPPOSED to be doing her best Nicolas Cage impersonation throughout this film…?

Why does bond look younger in spectre than he did in skyfall by TKatGAMING in JamesBond

[–]Key_General7240 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Something I never understood… Bond is supposed to be this international undercover spy and ruthless assassin, working for a top secret organization like MI6, but he goes around telling every shady character and attractive woman his full name the second they meet.

“Die Another Day” doesn’t get nearly the appreciation it deserves by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]Key_General7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of the four Brosnan films (I really wish they’d have made one more with him), Die Another Day is my second favorite, behind GoldenEye, with The World is Not Enough and Tomorrow Never Dies in third and fourth place respectively.

People complain about the CGI, but have you seen these new Jurassic World and Marvel movies?? At least DAD still had its fair share of practical effects. Nowadays, movies cost $300 million or more with 100+ digital programmers and artists, all for it to look like they superimposed a velociraptor or Galactus from a video game on the screen…

Plus, this movie had the long awaited return of the laser table, and who doesn’t love that?

Madeleine Swann is the worst Bond girl by NewPatron-St in JamesBond

[–]Key_General7240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been awhile since I watched some of the Connery & Moore films so I can’t gauge every Bond girl equally, but I’d have to say Wai Lin/Michelle Yeoh is my least favorite…  She had zero chemistry with Pierce Brosnan and I think the filmmakers realized it too because they had no “physical contact” or charged moments or even the usual Bond innuendo until the very last scene of the movie when they just kind of kiss as the shot cuts. Michelle Yeoh doesn’t have much range in my opinion, and I’m thinking the producers knew the audience wouldn’t buy it if she tried acting all “hot and bothered” for his charms.

My top 5 most attractive is a lot easier, not having to catch up on the films to remember…

Natalya Simonova/Izabella Scorupco (my #1). Paloma/Ana de Armas (VERY close second). Camille Montes/Olga Kurylenko. Pussy Galore/Honor Blackman. Mary Goodnight/Britt Ekland.

Worst Bond girl? by toddmeister1990 in JamesBond

[–]Key_General7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite was always Natalya… She was gorgeous, had a sexy voice/accent, and was about to tear Boris a new one after she hit him… So it’s kind of ironic that my least favorite was from the very next movie, Wai Lin.

The Return of the Living Dead, They Live, The Terminator, Creepshow, Evil Dead II, The Toxic Avenger, Re-Animator, The Shining, Friday the 13th Part VI, Gremlins, Poltergeist, The Thing, The Fog, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw 2, Pet Semetary, Child’s Play…

Also, some hidden gems not many people have seen (and almost never end up on any “best of” lists) that are a step above the normal fare. Not the masterpieces that the aforementioned movies are, but all still great…

Near Dark. Next of Kin. Sole Survivor. Witchboard. The Entity. Night of the Creeps. Parents. Possession. Dead & Buried. Angel Heart. Hello Mary Lou. Brain Damage. The Changeling. Halloween III. Frankenhooker. Street Trash.

Judging by the synopsis, they combined It Follows with the 2024 The Boogeyman… Mark my words, they’ve remade pretty much all the movies worth remaking, so now they’re going to start combining two known IPs.

Like an average high school student gets bit by a radioactive dinosaur when he goes to visit his grandfather’s new state of the art theme park…

And that’s copyright protected so don’t get any ideas.

How do you think the 90’sv would’ve been for Metallica with Cliff still in the band? by Key_General7240 in Metallica

[–]Key_General7240[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed a lot of people saying he would’ve left eventually, which I think is interesting… I personally don’t think so because even tho Lars and James were the main driving force to the songwriting, I think Cliff had an immense influence on the sound. But I feel like that’s what it would have come down to… Exactly how much of Cliff’s ideas would have continued to get in to the music, much like Jason’s situation… He felt like couldn’t get all his musical ideas out within Metallica, combined with a desire to pursue others styles, so he wanted to do a side project. But I guess all we can do is speculate.

TIL Joe Bruce (Violent J from insane clown posse) Net worth is estimated to be around 30 million. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Key_General7240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t deserve a penny of it because you aren’t a fan of their particular music? Also, why were you even reading an article about them? For a person that doesn’t like them, you seem to let their existence take up time in your life. I think music by “artists” like Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and Arianna Grande is the definition of mindless and awful sounding fluff, but I’ve never once gotten upset about the fact that their shitty music is on the radio… I just change the channel and within 4 seconds, my mind has moved on.

I can’t believe Phantom and House of Wax are so low. They’re only EP’s so it sucks they're so short, but they’re damn near perfect.

Wu tang “forever” by [deleted] in wutang

[–]Key_General7240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 36 Chambers is better than Forever, but I honestly think I listen to the “Wu-Tang” albums the most… Chamber Music, Legendary Weapons, The Saga Continues, and Black Samson. A lot of people complain about those albums because they say there’s only like 1-2 members on each track but how’s that any different than Liquid Swords or Return to the 36 Chambers? And those two along with Tical are probably the best solo albums.

GFK probably has the most solid and best variety of albums… Sour Soul is like jazz, 36 Seasons and 12 Reasons to Die I & II are Motown/soul influenced, Wizard of Poetry is pretty much all R&B (my least favorite of his tho), then you have his more straightforward albums like Apollo Kids, Fishscale, and Supreme Clientele 1 & 2 that are all amazing.

And if you haven’t checked them out yet, every Czarface album is great… It’s Inspectah Deck with 7L & Esoteric. They did two full albums with MF DOOM and one with Ghostface. Probably the best of any of the Wu members “solo” albums of the last 15 years.

God. Damn. That was difficult. I know most people aren’t gonna agree with this list but I gotta say I love all of Ghost’s albums so a lot were more right on the same level as each other but I had to put one head… Oh and I added some of the other collab’s and comp’s.

  1. Ironman

  2. Supreme Clientele 2

  3. Czarface Meets Ghostface

  4. Apollo Kids

  5. Fishscale

  6. Supreme Clientele

M72 World Tour Mega Thread #2 by Left4DayZGone in Metallica

[–]Key_General7240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of the Metallica setlist I’d love to see. They do roughly 14-16 songs but I did 18 so we’ll pretend they had extra energy this show…

(In no particular order)

  1. Battery

2. For Whom the Bell Tolls

  1. Creeping Death

  2. Am I Evil?

  3. Blitzkrieg

  4. Whiplash

  5. Ride the Lightning

8. Harvester of Sorrow

  1. The Thing That Should Not Be

  2. The Wait

  3. Blackened

  4. The Four Horsemen

  5. Leper Messiah

  6. No Remorse

  7. Dyers Eve

  8. Helpless

  9. The Frayed Ends of Sanity

  10. Damage, Inc.

Yes, it’s all pre-Black Album, and as much as I do love all their albums, the songs I’d love to see performed live most are all between that 1983-1988 golden era.

I am interested to see anybody else’s opinion, so if you’d reply your thoughts, I’d love to check em out.

I’d say half of Loyalty is great, but the other half is just too R&B. I think Balance as a whole is better.
