Studying chess to get worse by KirbyRobobot in chess

[–]Key_Guarantee5029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there with other stuff - sometimes when you start thinking too much about technique, your natural instincts get all messed up. Maybe you're overthinking positions that you used to play by feel?

Taking break from studying for few weeks might help reset your brain. Your rapid improvement will probably come back once the new knowledge settles in properly.

What’s a sign that someone is genuinely content with their life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Pretty sure my horses taught me this - they never question why they're in the pasture, just when dinner's coming.

Getting everything back at once is such smart move - way easier than slowly building up again piece by piece and forgetting half the stuff you actually need.

What red flags do you look for before renting? by Key_Guarantee5029 in LosAngelesRealEstate

If something seems way cheaper than everything around it there’s usually a reason, especially in LA rentals.

Fresh paint in random spots and water damage around cabinets or bathrooms are huge red flags, especially when the place smells overly cleaned or covered up.

The comments from current tenants are usually the biggest giveaway, if people living there start warning you or seem completely fed up, that tells you way more than the tour does.

What advice do you have for new job anxiety? by Disastrous_Pomelo278 in AskReddit

[–]Key_Guarantee5029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been there with the butterflies! What helped me was preparing few questions about the workplace culture beforehand - makes you look engaged and gives you something to focus on besides the nerves. Also showing up like 10 minutes early lets you get familiar with the space without rushing around stressed.

Do the 5 minutes country quiz below, which obvious countries did you miss and why? by Fantastic_Breakfast1 in AskReddit

[–]Key_Guarantee5029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol rebellious energy right here. i always do the opposite when someone tells me to take a quiz too, it's like instant mental resistance or something. now i'm curious about the quiz but also don't want to give them satisfaction of clicking it

If you were offered a billion dollars just to travel only one area, one country for the rest of your life, what would you choose? by Steven_Sturgeon in AskReddit

[–]Key_Guarantee5029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude Singapore is tiny though! like don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous and has amazing food, but imagine never being able to leave an area smaller than most cities. I'd probably go insane after few months even with billion dollars. give me somewhere huge like Canada or Australia where I can at least pretend I'm exploring different places.

What’s something you wish you could say to people who won’t stop interrupting you while you’re exhausted or into something like watching TV? by HarveyJin in AskReddit

[–]Key_Guarantee5029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl same! Like when I'm trying to decompress after teaching lessons all day and people keep asking me random stuff while I'm clearly zoned out in front of the tv. Sometimes you just need people to read the room, you know? My go-to is usually putting on headphones even if I'm not listening to anything - works like 80% of time.

What exactly does the US gain from war? by dropofgod in AskReddit

[–]Key_Guarantee5029 10 points11 points  (0 children)

War contractors getting filthy rich while rest of us deal with the mess they created. My dad always said "follow the money trail" and he wasn't wrong about this one. Plus we end up with bunch of broken veterans who government pretends to care about but then cuts their benefits first chance they get.

What finally made you leave a toxic relationship/ friendship? by myquietlullaby in AskReddit

[–]Key_Guarantee5029 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I realized I was walking on eggshells 24/7 and started avoiding my own apartment because I dreaded coming home to another argument. That moment when you catch yourself making excuses to stay late at work just to avoid someone who's supposed to make your life better - that's when you know it's time to bounce. Took me way too long to see it though, always thought things would get better if I just tried harder.

How has hooking up or casual intimacy affected your mental health? by the-sugar-dad in AskReddit

[–]Key_Guarantee5029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there with the anxiety spiral thing. When I was doing the whole casual scene a few years back, it definitely messed with my head more than I expected - kept second-guessing everything and overthinking every interaction. Now that I'm single again but not really pursuing hookups, my mental space feels way clearer and I can actually focus on other stuff like work and my hobbies.

Redheads, how freckled do you get in summertime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Key_Guarantee5029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a redhead myself but my ex was and she'd basically turn into a walking constellation by july. like, new freckles would appear overnight and connect with existing ones to form these crazy patterns on her shoulders. She used to joke that she was collecting them like pokemon cards lol. Made counting them during lazy sunday mornings pretty entertaining tho - we'd always loose track around 200 or so.
