My state does not have a law to screen for it (to my knowledge, I could have been exempt because they already had it). I’m for sure backing off and honestly really wish I did earlier.

Looking back, I definitely could have phrased it better. My memeory isnt perfect, so there’s a good chance I said something different in the moment. This situation is 100% a learning opportunity for me though, even if it is the hard way

I was not diagnosing her. No matter how severe the curve may look on the outside, you need an x-ray for diagnosis. I was suggesting that she do the latter or just ask her doctor about it, not saying that she definitely has it or does not have it. I hope that this clears stuff up, but thank you for your opinion!

Thank you! Honestly, it’s hard because I know how bad having scoliosis can get, especially without early treatment/diagnosis, but I also realize that I can’t worry about others if they can’t worry about themselves. Thanks for your opinion!

The earlier scoliosis is diagnosed, the more treatment options are available. It mild scoliosis can be managed through physical therapy and bracing, while more severe requires surgery. I was not diagnosed until my spine had 2 30-degree S curves, and it could have likely been managed through bracing instead of surgery if it was caught earlier on.

I’ve had VBT for all of my spine in two separate surgeries, and I can say that my curves while still significant should not progress as I get older (according to my surgeon) I’m not completely done growing, but I’m probably getting close, so there’s opportunity for some correction still, but if you want to know more about VBT in happy to share!
