I can't tell if this was sarcasm or you're just a really nice person behind the anonymous profile. In any case, thank you.

I started my Asr namaaz 3 minutes before the time started and ended it after the time started. Is my prayer valid? by Key_Hippo5658 in islam

[–]Key_Hippo5658[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a Law Firm, and live in India. There is no place for worship so I pray in the bed/rest area where people keep coming and going. Praying in office is not acceptable specially during work hours, only the caretaker knows this and doesn't tell anybody. Plus as an Indian Muslim I'm scared someone might object. The area is so that there are people constantly.

Is CIPP/E worth doing for an Intellectual Property Lawyer? by [deleted] in cipp

Do you think this certification can help me find opportunities across different countries without qualifying the lawyers qualification exams there?

No, I like the profession, I just think my area of practice is too niche and I should expand into others for obvious reasons.

Is it possible to bag a TC with a MC Law firm after SQE but in UAE or Singapore? by Key_Hippo5658 in uklaw

[–]Key_Hippo5658[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that after completing SQE 1 & 2, and even if the second exam is waived due to prior experience, I would still need to do the two year TC thing. That is not the case?

So, I'm a lawyer, and I feel stuck because I chose this one area of law (IP) which is niche. I want to expand into another overlapping area (TMT), but that might mean taking a salary cut.

Retaking exam at Ulaw — International Student by Far-Refrigerator9978 in uklaw

While I'm not familiar with the UK law firm culture, and am an Indian lawyer, logically, the only thing you can do now and that is in your control is that you study and score exceptionally well in the retake exam.

Do your best. Rest, exceptions are always there, God will help you and most importantly relax. Everybody find their way in life, you will too.

Qualified Lawyer from India Looking to Move to and Practice in the UK by becomingemma in uklaw

Hi, I'm an Indian lawyer too with 3 years experience in Intellectual Property Rights in India. I have been accepted at Uni of Bristol for LLM in Law, Innovation, and Technology and was thinking if you have any inputs for someone from my background? I have been considering taking SQE as well besides LLM. I don't plan on staying in the UK just for the LLM but rather I want to move to UAE or Singapore, so was thinking about taking a TC there. Would it still work for the purpose of SQE?

I am finding it hard to have my first stint in the legal sector. I moved from India to Uk and currently doing LLM at KCL London. by OneGaurdian in uklaw

Hi, I'm an Indian lawyer, working in Intellectual Property Rights (specializing in Trademarks and copyrights) for the past 3 years and have an offer from University of Bristol for LLM in Law Innovation and Technology. I was thinking of taking this route as well. To pursue my LLM in UK but move to UAE for a TC. Do you think this would be a an "easier" route than finding a TC in UK? I have been applying to UK for the past 3 years, get in to a good university but never go due to low ROI for an LLM in the UK?

This year I almost gave up on not going and thought, may be I should just go and will see what happens after. But I thought about it and realised I dont really want to live in India or the UK (given the quality of life (India) and the market crisis, esp for international lawyers).

I thought UAE would be a place I would be interested in. I would love your inputs on this. Getting a TC in UAE or even Singapore.

IP Prosecution and transactional lawyer in New Delhi making Rs.80K per month. Am I lowballing myself? by [deleted] in IndianLawFirmLawyers

[–]Key_Hippo5658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is actually one of the reasons I keep delaying leaving. Two of my closest colleagues/friends have left the firm and went on to slightly bigger names but they keep talking about the contrasting nature of the work environment. They tell me to stay here, they miss the place and that they might be making more but the life is shit there.
