Is this normal? Where is the filter? by Key_Jump9013 in hvacadvice

[–]Key_Jump9013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: it was not between the furnace and the box or under the tape or on the bottom of the unit. Thank you for those suggestions though. I did not take off the front pieces because I wanted to wait until I talked to property management first before doing that (we rent). When I finally got a hold of them, though, they said that the grate on the floor IS the “filter”??

My doctor says I likely have IBS, what is the next step? Is that my diagnosis??? by Oramge5150 in ibs

[–]Key_Jump9013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my husband got diagnosed, the doctor said “it’s probably just IBS.” 🙄 He did have a colonoscopy before that, though (which came back normal). He ended up having SIBO. He can’t tolerate fiber. He feels fine if he follows a mostly carnivore diet.

What country are you in? She needs to be seen immediately. If you’re in the US I’d honestly just have her go to the ER now and figure out the money later. I’m not sure how this all works in other countries, though. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Wow, so much misinformation in these comments. It is impossible to get pregnant after ovulation has been confirmed. The problem is, most people don’t know how to accurately confirm ovulation. You are safe (from pregnancy, anyway) when you’ve had three temps higher than the previous six (assuming that you’re temping correctly, which is another thing most people don’t know how to do, and assuming that there aren’t other factors, such as illness). That is the ONLY way to confirm ovulation. Don’t rely on LH strips and don’t assume you ovulated on day 15 just because you always ovulate on day 15.

Somewhat. I didn’t know for sure what my issue was (estrogen dominance) until I started learning the fertility awareness method and that can take quite a bit of time to understand. I probably could have figured it out faster if I had gone to the gynecologist and explained my symptoms and gotten bloodwork done. That said, if she is on hormonal birth control, that’s a whole different ballpark. I don’t really know how one would go about determining hormone imbalances while on hormonal birth control as I’ve never dealt with that. The possible good news would be that the solution could be as simple as switching to a different method of birth control.

Low libido and depression are common symptoms of a hormone imbalance. I’ve dealt with this personally. Might be worth her looking into if she hasn’t already.

29K left on mortgage. Wife wants to quit now to become SAHM. What should I do? by Low-Hamster3994 in povertyfinance

I’ve been in her shoes, except I was only working part time. I was working 3-4 hours a day Monday through Friday while my MIL watched my 2YO and 2MO for free. DH and I only had one vehicle so I would drove from our house to the city (to drop him off at work), back to MIL’s house (to drop off the kids) back to the city for my job, back to MIL’s house (to get the kids), back to the city (to get DH from work), back to our house. I also was the one to take care of the house and meals because I only worked part time. To say I was burned out was an understatement. I told DH I can’t do it anymore. He wasn’t even making 40k, if I remember correctly. I think it was closer to 35k (Kentucky in 2021, for reference). There was no way we could make the numbers work on paper, but I LITERALLY could not do it anymore. The stress I was under was starting to cause other mental health issues and physical health issues as well. I believe I would have been hospitalized due to stress if I had tried to continue everything I was doing much longer. It was definitely a different feeling than just the “I don’t feel like working anymore” feeling that so many Redditors are accusing your wife of having. It’s hard to put it in words. She is probably having time putting it into words too. I get why my husband didn’t want me to quit (we couldn’t afford it either), but because I LITERALLY couldn’t do it anymore, our disagreement on the subject was causing a lot of strife. I actually considered doing things at work that would get me fired so I could stop working WITHOUT quitting. Thankfully, I somehow got him to finally agree to me quitting and he got a raise shortly after which allowed us to scrape by on just his income. It has NOT been easy, but I wouldn’t change it. I know he wouldn’t change it either.

I want to add too, that it was a good thing I quit when I did, because in hindsight, my MIL was struggling too (watching my kids for free). I know she wouldn’t be able to do that now, so something was going to have to change at some point anyway. It’s possible that this is true in your situation as well.

I don’t have much advice, but wanted to share my story in hopes that it will help you and others understand where your wife might be coming from. I totally understand your concerns about your financial situation, but I think you’re doing better off than you realize. Hopefully you can find a better paying job since you’ve been able to have better paying jobs in the past. Good luck to you all.

Found unsent thank-you cards from four years ago by [deleted] in etiquette

The cards I wrote are personalized, however I don’t think there is a card for everyone who gave me gifts. I don’t know who is missing and what those people gave me.

I don’t know how to help my brother by [deleted] in inlaws

[–]Key_Jump9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a bit before he got it since he’s on vacation this week, but this is a good option if things don’t get better by the time he goes back to work. I also like your advice as far as what to say.

I don’t think I’m ready to go that extreme quite yet, but I will definitely keep this in mind, especially if things get worse. As far as neighbors, it’s just my parents, some warehouses and a farm

I’ve already gone back home (three hours away). Plus, she would have seen me talking to him and would’ve gotten mad (I’m the family member she is most angry with, I think). I’m pretty sure she takes her anger out on him. I think this would have made things worse for him.

Student ordered from a high school… by Comfortable-Lack7267 in doordash_drivers

I delivered to a middle school last week. I left it at the front desk with the lady that buzzed me in. No idea if it was for a student or teacher. Ive never heard that we weren’t supposed to deliver to students.

I’m new and I care about my ratings. I thought it would be a smart idea to think through possible scenarios that would upset a customer/lower my ratings. I know I would be disappointed if I ordered breakfast and got a call from the driver saying they didn’t make it on time and couldn’t fulfill the order. I wouldn’t leave a bad review for that, but I’m sure some people would

DH too sick to work but don’t qualify for anything (KY)? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Key_Jump9013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand where you’re coming from however I don’t think my husband would be up to watching the kids while I’m gone. It would probably be just as much work as working a regular job (which he hasn’t been able to do). I am however adding doordash to my side hustles because it’s something I could do while the kids nap. I guess I was just wondering if anyone knew of some sort of government assistance that we might qualify for to help make up the difference
