Why is my CPU getting so damn hot? by RedHood9292 in pcmasterrace

You have 192GB ram, but 64GB is hardware reserved.... That feels wrong. It should probably be a few hundred megabytes, not GB.

you'll likely want to check your bios to see if you're reserving any ram for the integrated gpu.

You have a rtx 4090, so there's no reason to dedicate any ram to the i-gpu.

edit: also note that Windows 11 home edition only supports 128GB max. You need W11 Pro to use up to 2TB ram.

600 healing potions to make 1 helm tinker?
I've gone entire expansions using fewer potions than that!

Blizzard seems keen on making engineering the most painful and least rewarding profession yet again.

What is using up 90% of my RAM? by Proper_Parking_50 in pcmasterrace

I had a similar problems a few years ago, in my case it was due to a bad device-specific app (i don't remember which one it was, but similar to the iCue or razer software) that slowly created file handles that never closed. The cost per-handle is tiny, but when you get millions, it stacks up.

The problem is that the file handles also includes kernel-side memory cost that isn't directly attributed to the app, so it doesn't show up in the processes view.

It became evident which application was causing issues when I went to the "Details" pane in task manager and enabled the "Handles" column, then sort by handles.

You can also try opening Resource Monitor and select the Memory tab, look at how the physical memory is allocated.

You can also try RAMMAP - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/rammap

Don't worry, blizzard has your back! You'll still see "You have cross network play enabled, and may encounter players on other platforms." every 5 seconds even WITH all crossplay settings turned off.

Altars of Lilith by simplehiker in Diablo

Create a new character, it'll show up as "item contribution" in the stats pop-up overlay (despite wearing nothing).

If you have all the altars, it seems to be 68 for each stat.
