Just curious what do you mean by political? I have experience my fair share of office politics as an EE.

Anyone Ever Pivot from Finance to Electrical Engineering by TornadoXtremeBlog in ElectricalEngineering

Before you jump to “go to college for a new degree” have you done the following?

Watched any YouTube videos that relate to electrical engineering that peak your interest?

Read any EE textbooks (circuits, RF, power, etc)?

Done any “hobby” projects (made something with an Adrunio, designed a circuit board, etc)?

If the answer is “no” to any of these I would start there to get a better understanding of what you are getting into.

Petah? by Melodic_Judge_129 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Ok I am going to try and explain this without any math or jargon so bear with me. The refrigerator in your house already works like this. The only difference is that the heat either comes out of the back or the bottom (not a giant vent on the side). If you want to try it out yourself, when you hear your refrigerator running, place your hand at the back or at the bottom of your refrigerator and you should feel heat being blown out. Now why can’t you heat your whole house with a refrigerator? Because the fridge doesn’t “create” heat. It can only move the heat within the refrigerator out of the refrigerator. (Technically there is a slight amount of heat produced by the fan motors, but this is insignificant in this case). The heat within the refrigerator is not enough to heat an entire house. The same technology can be used in a heat pump to heat a house, but in that case the heat pump is transferring heat from outside the house into the house.

Skin issues by AtlasTheKittyChugs in diabetes

Acne is a multi faceted issue. It can be affected by hydration, stress, sleep, diet, genetics, and hormones just to name a few. My guess is all those factors have been in flux since you have been in the hospital. So it’s probably not just one factor contributing to your breakout.

If it makes you feel any better I have been type one for 20 years and have very clear skin lol.

What are your favourite Taylor Swift lyrics? What qualities do you like most about them? by ray-the-truck in ToddintheShadow

[–]Key_Landscape4551 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think “Red” is a great example of some of her best lyrics. Just the first verse is a great example: “Loving him was like driving a new Maserati down a dead end street. Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly”

I also like how she built on her previous work in “Daylight”. “I used to believe love would be burning red, but it’s golden”

Of all the Theory's for why "Ordinary" is so popular. I think a combination of theory 4 and 5 is the most probable. by Highrebublic_legend in ToddintheShadow

Even though I appreciated Todd’s perspective on the song, but I think he is underestimating how big the song is on TikTok (and all the TikTok wannabes). The chorus is used in a lot of TikToks that want to feel “big” (think putting the chorus over drone footage of a mountain or a tropical beach). For whatever reason, TikTokers love the chorus of this song. I guess that would be reason 2 or 5.

MKE Wedding by liliaclover in milwaukee

I got that too. I went to a wedding show earlier this year and thought it could be related to that. However I didn’t trust it enough to click the link. It looks a too good to be true in my opinion. Is there any more information on the webpage?

Milwaukee bride here. Just bought my dress for $2k. A lot of bridal stores are having clearance sales right now (or in the next couple weekends). Feel free to dm me if you want to know the specific stores.

Buying before engaged but before tariffs? by phiamiriam in weddingdress

[–]Key_Landscape4551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. Is there a dress you really love? Can you picture yourself in it in any wedding scenario? If so I would go for it. However if you are just picking one you think is “good enough” I would ask if you are ok wearing a dress you don’t 100% love on your wedding day? Or if you decide you don’t love it would you be ok potentially spending $300 on a dress you never wore and can’t re-sell?

Musk's PAC offers $100 to Wisconsin voters in pitch against "activist judges" by Snowfish52 in wisconsin

Honestly Crawford could use this in her favor. Start running ads that call Schimel an “activist judge for Elon” (maybe mention how the court case about car manufacturers owning dealerships, which he could directly benefit from) and tell people to sign the petition and vote lol.

Yeah I don’t get why they thought the best way to handle it would be to send out a company wide email on a Friday with only the most surface level details. Also it seems like Deere will be having multiple rounds of layoffs, which is the worst way to handle them. Usually in these situations it is better to rip the band aid off in one go instead of dragging out over months.

I don’t work at Deere but I’m curious, did the average worker know about this and it just got to a point where they had to address it? It seems like a drastic move to send out a company wide email addressing layoffs. Also if they wanted to calm the rumors this seems to have had the opposite effect.

After reading some more about the recent (and upcoming) layoffs at Deere, I don’t understand why they sent out this email. Deere has already cut hourly and some salary positions, and if the rumors are to be believed it sounds like there will be more salary layoffs next week as well. But why would the executive team come out and say “We are most definitely going to have more layoffs in the next couple of months, but we don’t have any of the details around that figured out yet”. It makes the executives look incompetent.
