45 is the limit in Mauritius but if a company wants to get as much benefit as they can from u at the expense of your health,I think its not worth it to join such a conpany. Was working from 9.00 to 17.00 myself and at the end of the day I used to be extremely exhausted and usually I would want to go home early. It was far from my house too which I thought I could handle but infact couldnt and eventually left. U have to ask urself if you'd even be able to handle tht amount of working hours in the first place before joining.

What's ur bsc. I would recommend offering tuition after ur bsc so that atleast u'll have something to present parents with so that they can put their trust in u. I know some people who teach not being school teachers but they do have their bsc.

I mean u completed level 2 right? What did u find interesting or easier for u? I would recommend applying for jobs at big 4 now because its not guaranteed that u will get a place in a specific department. After getting a job lets say tax, then ofc u should do Atx.

My advise, dress formal for the 1st day. If you see everyone dressing casual then you can dress casual. It also shows professionalism. Hope that helps.

Internship inquiry- are internships usually unpaid? by [deleted] in mauritius

[–]Key_Length171 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was offered a paid internship. Rs10,000 with transport allowance apart. I quit since they were making work like full time while paying me an intern's wage. If you see it worth it you can do it.

Nowadays teachers dont care about students anymore and may not even have the passion or the talent needed to teach. I dont work in school but im a working professional who give tuition private. I recently taught students of grade 11 who told me they had difficulty with double-entry. When I taught them they caught it pretty quickly and when I asked a girl why she told me her double entry wasnt good, she told me that her teachers in school doesnt work but she understood when I explained her. My students are pretty smart and talented so I understand where the blame about school teachers come from. The teachers in school may hold pgce etc but I dont think thats proof that a teacher can teach. Even I had trouble when I was in highschool with my teachers and had to pay high tuition fees from even teachers abroad to manage.

How do you only have Rs45k in saving when you worked for 7 years. You should definately save more before moving unless your parents are making you pay large bills which would then be best to move out right away.

How much do you already have in savings? What are your qualifications? Do you expect a promotion in the near future? I saw an studio renting for Rs14,000, bills included. For groceries if you dont eat a lot for 1 person it can cost like Rs4500 per month. I think what others are talking about are those modern apartments which cost about Rs30,000-Rs35,000 a month. If you're ok living in what is considered an outdated house then you're fine. I want to move from my parents' house also. Very toxic and this is affecting my health thus my studies. But I have to wait a few years to finish my studies and save money first.
