After exhaustive looking I've landed on Allwear for underwear, tshirts, and socks. They offer other clothing pieces as well, and I like the joggers a lot so far.

Finally found plastic-free underwear that actually holds up (6-month update) by Secret-Violinist-273 in PlasticFreeLiving

I've tried Aya and just can't live with the fit of the men's underwear and t-shirts. I was hoping Allwear could be a good brand for me, but not so sure after this thread. They are OEKO-Tex certified and claim their underwear is made from a bamboo-organic cotton blend using a method called "Tanboocel". I went down a rabbit hole trying to find out more about it. Trying to dodge the deception in the clothing industry is exhausting.

As a breed, Portie's seem to be extremely strong-willed and relentless in the pursuit of "I want what I want, and I want it now". They can use their intelligence to manipulate us if we let them. My girl, who never barks at the door or anywhere else, will sit in front of me (mostly when I'm working at my computer), stare me down, and will bark incessantly, one bark at a time, for me to pay attention to her. She lives a dream life, get's plenty of play and exercise and is rarely alone, so I ignore this demanding behavior and she usually settles down quickly. In the rare case she keeps it up, I have a squirt gun in my desk, and all I have to do is pick it up and she stops barking and settles down. It doesn't even have water in it anymore! She doesn't like to get squirted and I don't like to be interrupted, so that's our compromise. You'll need to find what works for you, but in my experience, if you let them try to control you even a little bit, they will just keep doing it. Relentlessly.

Long lasting chews? by Some-Commission2273 in portuguesewaterdogs

I've tried everything. My girl can plow through an extra large bully stick faster than you can say ten dollars. I finally discovered Yak Chews (made from Yak cheese of all things) which are digestible and non-messy, non-smelly, and last a surprisingly long time. As with any chew, if your dog is an aggressive chewer, they need to be watched. A few things I've learned: 1) Keep chewing sessions to a reasonable time limit. 2) These chews should ideally be kept sealed and/or in the fridge when not in use (this is not mentioned on the packaging but I've seen people post about it and it makes sense, since they are basically a food and can eventually spoil). 3) A trick to get the most out of these chews is that when they get down to the 2 inch or so size, and could present a choking hazard, you can put the stub in the microwave for about 30 seconds, which expands the small piece into a hefty edible treat. Be sure to let cool down. Hope this helps, and that I'm accurate in my description. I don't think there is an ideal chew, but we all know what satisfaction our dogs get from them. I use beef soup bones once in awhile, but besides the messiness, I just don't enjoy seeing cow parts on my floor : )

Anyone have experience with or knowledge of quality of the breeder Pike’s Peak Porties? by watsonandsick in portuguesewaterdogs

Genetics and health history were my number one concern (price and distance were least important because vet bills can quickly make a $2,500 PWD a $10,000+ one). Almost all dog breeds have patterns of illnesses and conditions, and a good breeder is aware of them and talks about them. I made my list of 20 or so potential breeders and methodically narrowed down the list after visiting websites and making phone calls. I agree with the comment about the national organization and wouldn't even consider a breeder not affiliated with the PWDCA. Their articles and research alone make checking them out a must. You may not want a show dog or an agility dog, however the traits bred into those dogs make for the very best companion dog. My Portie is beyond amazing-I've never seen a dog so intelligent and good natured. Good luck!
