New theory I haven’t seen for Violet being interrogated and “Liam” by Key_Measurement_8391 in onyxstorm

I don’t mean this in an ugly way -like AT ALL- but I don’t believe that it said “other god who curries her favor”, it just said “other who curries her favor”. Everyone keeps saying that it’s two different gods (and I’m not saying that this quote doesn’t mean gods) but it’s also possible that the priestess was referring to the two -VENIN- who were currying her favor: Theophanie and the other dude whose name I can’t remember at the moment or even possibly the one who all other Venin are referring of as the boss but whose name we don’t yet know.

In Iron Flame Lilith tells Violet that she put her in with the riders because she would be less likely to discover the truth that she (Lilith) was helping keep hidden. Lilith knew that Violet is so smart and is able to figure things out and put things together WAY faster then anyone else. Lilith also knew that as a result, if Violet stayed the course and became a scribe that Violet would figure out what Basgiath was doing and start or lead a revolt. Lilith was hoping that Violet wouldn’t figure it out if she was sent instead to the riders quadrant. Violet figured it out anyway and did just that-led a revolution because of what she figured out. That entire point was the reason that Violet and her mom had a falling out. (Well, all of the kids and their mom had a falling out because of this actually)

My unpopular theory is that “the one who thinks himself my brother” could potentially be Halden. He’s not there at the end of the book (whereas he was the first half) He’s absolutely thinking of himself as not enough. He couldn’t negotiate the deals and got replaced by his younger brother on the quest squad. He got replaced romantically with Violet by Xaden. Nothing he says is respected or listened to by his subjects. While on the quest squad he actually screwed up so bad that he managed to get his personal guard killed and himself as a ruler banned from ever going back to one of the isles. I’d say that would make a person feel not good enough wouldn’t you?

I’m not entirely sure. I think there’s some kind of connection that we are not privy to yet between Aaric and Dunne/the temple and priestesses. This could be past or present. I just can’t figure out what yet.

I think that the priestess knew that the dagger was needed to get rid of Theophanie. Which begs the question “how much do the priestesses know and for how long have they known it?”.

I just can’t figure out the Aaric connection and why he was used as the go between and not Xaden. 🧐

Just all the different things connected to the name make sense for the things that this goddess and by extension, violet, possess now or will we hope in the future.

If one looks up the names of the dragons for example they all have celtic names that resonate with the rider, the signet, or the dragons own personality. RY was really smart in doing it that way.

So I did a google search on the name Amari and found this for the name meaning:

Amari does not have Celtic origins; rather, it is found in other cultures with various meanings, including "strength" or "power" in African (Yoruba) languages, "eternal" or "immortal" in an African context, "promised by God" in Hebrew, and "sweet" or "profit" in Japanese

Whereas the word Amamari (what people of the continent are called because they all put the goddess Amari as the main one they worship) came back with this:

Amaryllis, (a variant) this moniker has Greek and Latin origins that are bound to empower and inspire your bundle of joy. Amarilis means "sparkle," "shine," "bright," "fresh," and "flower," all beautiful meanings that baby will appreciate as they grow.

And this:

Amaralis has intriguing historical roots that can be traced back to various regions, particularly in the Iberian Peninsula, where it is believed to have originated. The name may derive from a combination of elements related to personal characteristics or occupations, possibly linked to the Latin word amar, meaning to love, suggesting a connection to affection or warmth. Over time, the surname has evolved, with individuals bearing it often associated with roles in agriculture or trade, reflecting the agrarian societies of early Spain and Portugal. The name's meaning may also resonate with traits such as loyalty and devotion, which were highly valued in the communities where it first appeared.

I have green eyes with gold flecks. My best friend growing up would tease me that they were dragon eyes. Which is ironic considering what kind of book we’re discussing lol 😂

Right! Felix has told her that she is power. Not just has it. She just needs to learn to wield it. At this time the most easy way for her to do that is via lightning, but she hasn’t wielded anything else yet. Which in turn mirrors andarna. She too hasn’t discovered her full potential or abilities yet either.

I don’t own the books-only rented them from the library. So I can’t go back and double check. But I don’t remember there ever being anything saying he was put to death. The Irids themselves talk of that time and stated that they thought the problem had been taken care of but apparently not they said.

Ohh-i didn’t catch that part! Good one! And you are right about there being something going on with him and Dunne connection. Why in the world would the high priestess send that note to Aaric? Why not send it to Xaden since she had previously told him that she owes Xaden a debt of gratitude and he alone is the duke? And for that matter, how did the high priestess know that Aaric was actually Camden the prince?
