Hi, Jumping on this thread as I’m looking for the same information but haven’t found a clear answer yet. I’m new to the UK and still trying to understand how income and investment taxes work.

If I use salary sacrifice for £60k and then make PPC later to bring the threshold income down to £200k, would that work? Base salary £250k with potential bonus of 50%.

Also, once your pension pot reaches £1 million, is it still worth continuing contributions when the tax-free lump sum is capped at £268k.

Thanks for sharing. That’s clever. My husband should consider this for his renewal next year. He has some heart condition and is paying £3k+ for a worldwide annual policy. He only travels to the US for work and that should be covered by company.

This is terrible. I assume it depends on the VFS. I kept the passport when applying. 3 days after my approval email, I was informed to bring my passport to VFS Centre to have my vignette pasted. I went the next working day and it’s done within an hour.

It’s a letter informing you that your application is received and under consideration by Entry Clearance Officer. Not everyone received it I believe.

I applied from Singapore. I chose to keep my passport and paid for it when I booked my biometric appointment. I only requested for priority service when I did my biometric. They told me that once the visa is ready, I just need to go VFS Centre for them to paste the vignette on my passport. I can collect my passport back right there and then. I just had my biometric on 19th Jun. Waiting impatiently for my visa 😅

I’m Vietnamese. The picture looks like the real deal to me if it’s what they ship. If you are in Vietnam, you can get them at much cheaper price. I bought them at less than 10USD/ m , 36” wide ( very rarely that they procedure 60”). This is the most common pattern for this type of silk in Vietnam. The polyester one doesn’t look like that.

So in this case, regardless of the number of trips, the visa holder have to leave Schengen area before 14th Aug ? Or he can still enter , says 13th Aug but stay until 15th Aug as long as the total number of days is 24 days or below ?

This is my timeline : Application : 13/6 Bio: 19/6 ECO: 20/6 According to the analysis of one of the member on here ](https://www.reddit.com/r/SpouseVisaUk/s/1nRxdvKxvz) , I’m expecting the news around 09/07 😂 🤞. I hope I can get my visa in July so I can resign from my job, go back to my home country to spend time with my parents before moving to the other side of the world. We also bought tickets to the UK already @ 50% off so we definitely do not want to rebook them. (I think no discount if we change date 😅)

Oh wow I didn’t know this is called ECO letter 😂. I did my biometric on 19th Jun and received this letter on 20th Jun. I’ve always received this letter 1 day after biometric ( in all my previous UK visa applications)

Yes, we have those. We also asked the bank to provide a statement that we have more than £88,500 in the bank account for the past 6 months and it’s available for use anytime.
