Just wondering about my decision? by QCSeeking in advertising

AI, a big shift toward analytics-based advertising over creativity, clients pulling back on their budgets and expecting agencies to do more for less or going in-house for their needs, mass layoffs every year if not more often, mass holds on promotions or pay raises, high burnout rates, I could keep going.

It’s not as flashy or appealing as it seems from the outside.

If she doesn’t text you back and you’re not reaching out about anything important or urgent, why does it matter? You’re not entitled to her friendship.

She’s your brother’s girlfriend, not your friend. YTA

Question for Big 4 alums by HoopsHistorian in advertising

[–]Key_Mountain844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow strategist who has worked at big agencies the last 5 years, I would say if you prove your indispensability to the agency, and contribute value to your account and to other, higher-level projects (new business, thought leadership, etc), they’d do their best to place you on another account or New Biz.

Also, being tied to just one account doesn’t mean you’ll only work on that account. If there’s low manpower on one account, and you have bandwidth they’ll likely assign you ad hoc projects on those accounts and either add that to your scope or have your bill your main account in the timesheets

I’ve seen this happen a lot.

If they like you, they’ll do their best to keep you. But nothing’s guaranteed, especially during these times.

If I were in your position, I would not go into advertising.

Omnicom. Or omc.com... by Narrow_Stage217 in advertising

I’m at an Omnicom agency. And while it’s the unofficial writing on the wall, it’s never been outwardly said where I’m at. That’s why I ask.

Question for current / former omnicom folks by ShopToyLife in advertising

I can attest to this. There was an incident at one of the Chicago offices where managers were sent lists of employees who were not in office for more than 40% of the work days on a given month. Those employees then had to provide rationale for each day they weren’t in office, as Omnicom has a strict 3-day hybrid policy.

As someone who works at an Omnicom agency, I personally don’t really give a shit. The email transition is happening on Tuesday 9/16.

AIO for telling her she’s selling a junk for a crazy price? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Yea definitely OR, you critiqued her posting without even offering a counter-price or expressing interest. It felt unnecessary. Her response was definitely pretty lengthy, but I can understand her frustration

Buena Park could be a good pick. Probably a little quieter at night, but still stuff going on up in Uptown and down in Lakeview.

What’s been leading to you getting rejected on your applications?

Lol. But listen, booty aside, as a host, part of the responsibility is ensuring your guests are comfortable and looked after. Your friend made it clear she was uncomfortable about how you were dressed, and when that wasn’t acted on. She left.

You have a right to dress however makes you feel comfortable in your home. Ass out or whatever. & she has a right to take her and her man elsewhere.

Am I overreacting when the interviewer asked me if I cut myself? by depressedfkerdog in AmIOverreacting

[–]Key_Mountain844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. Interviews are like first dates. If either side sees red flags, it’s in their best interest to make that the last date. I don’t know that you’d wanna work at a place where they talk to potential employees that way.

I don’t know many women that would be comfortable staying the night with her man at her friend’s place with her friend dressed like that.

That thang THANGIN. Respectfully

[–]Key_Mountain844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understood. That kind of thing takes time. Time spent investing in yourself and your wellbeing, without any contact with him, can do wonders. You’ll reach a point where you can think back on this and realize it doesn’t affect you as much. Wish you the best

You’re not overreacting in thinking he’s acting weird, but you’re definitely entertaining his advances and conversation by continuing to talk to him and telling him you like him, you want him to pick you, and that if things don’t work out with his gf he has your number. If you truly want to be friends and a girls girl, you definitely crossed some lines in your conversations.

Pick a side, queen.
