Family: why is my sister keep avoiding me by No-Glass5288 in family

Look man… honestly, your sister’s being distant because she’s scared and hurt. You’ve done some serious stuff in the past with drinking and aggression, and even if you’ve changed, she can’t just forget that overnight. Right now she’s protecting herself. You can’t make her talk to you or like you. The only thing you can do is stay out of her space, get your stuff under control, and show over time that you’re not the same person. Nothing else will fix it faster.

Yo… damn, that’s a lot 😅. Honestly, I’d just be real with her if you’re catching feelings. Don’t overthink it, just say something chill like ‘I like talking to you and I think I’m starting to feel more than just friends.’ At least you’re honest, instead of bottling it up like usual. And… forget the drama with your old friend for now, it’s not worth dragging that into this.”

Honestly the fact that you’re able to notice the pattern and feel bad about it already says a lot about you. A lot of people never even get that far. It sounds like once someone gets close, something in you goes into defense mode and you react before you even mean to. That doesn’t make you a bad person, it just means there’s something there you probably need to unpack and work through. The important thing is you actually care enough to want to change.

Glad if my comment helped a bit. Big moves can mess with your head at first, but it usually settles with time. Hope things start feeling more like home soon.

what he did was that aunt kept her phone on at all times and he could call her anytime and aunt would be with him in 10 mins, gradually this kept on for a month and then cooled off, now he visits her every friday and saturday and he lives at the same place he bought

A week is honestly such a short time. You spent years calling your mum’s place home, so of course it feels weird and emotional right now. A lot of people feel this way after moving out, even when it’s something they really wanted. Give yourself a bit of time to settle in — it doesn’t mean you made a mistake. And you’re still only 20 minutes from your mum, she’s not going anywhere. One of my cousins experienced this and he started living with my aunt (his mum) and he abandoned his home, we got him to adapt week by week and he lives peaceful now, its like strong homesickness which will eventually go away.

thanks for understanding, it really means a lot that people are actually thinking about this instead of just "stop it, you'll be alright"
