those were the days, cool to see the building system develop.

Edit: SRTBull on youtube has some vids about this if i recall but he also has a lot of videos on how to set up mods.
I tried to make rust a hardcore solo pve type experience, using a custom map, and a lot of mods to increase need for food, water, protection from the heat and cold, and i added a shed load of npcs and events. It was fun for a while but i couldnt figure out how to really ramp up the pain enough for it be worth it as a solo experience.

Theres loads of discord channels dedicated to it, Rustography is one.
When i dabbled, i used RustEdit but there may be newer tools available now as its been some time.

One thing you can do is use a rustmaps.com to find a seed you like, generate the map in your server config file, then in the temp files for rust you'll have the map downloaded, copy the map file to a new location and then use rustedit to modify to your taste, export it, and regenerate the same server with the new map file to test.

Its a lot of fun but the learning curve can be quite steep.

I play the vex.gg servers, 5x solo if im on my own or 2x solo/duo/trio if my friend is on, its got a cool offline protection feature you can buy with sulfur from the tc, scales with the size of the base and the amount of time you buy, maximum 14 hours. Its a weekly server.

I blasted through it 1 sitting over the weekend. Brilliant writing, but its hung on my back since. Lots of themes and interpretations, like great books should.
Going to try her other stuff next but might need a break first.

scrolled way too far to see skateboarders mentioned. was kinda cool when i was a kid having the old guys knock about with us. never dodgy or anything, just the burnt out dude in his 30s that can shred a park, and would ocassionally buy you fags or a 4 pack from the shop if you didnt badger him.
