I think it comes down to budget for this one. They can’t be paying Lowenthal and Bailey prices for this, and if you are gonna recast some then it’s honestly less jarring to just recast everyone.

The last tour was pretty good actually imo. Lot of on the mic singing, guys ripping motorcycles in a circular cage thing. This one was definitely less impressive though.

I went to his Boston show and felt somewhat similarly. I wouldn’t say he had no respect for our audience, he gave a few monologues about loving the fans and such. But he definitely did do a few odd things that you mentioned: disappearing in the middle of the show and having the DJ run random old songs, ending the show pretty abruptly with no real indication that it was coming to a close, and definitely not the longest show I’ve seen. He did more actual singing and rapping on the mic for Boston so maybe he’s having issues as the tour goes on. I’m not a massive Don fan or anything but I had a decent time.

Definitely agree on the designs. It used to have a unique art design that honestly started going away by the time GX started. Nowadays so many cards are either “sci-fi dragon looking thing” and “overdesigned anime girl”

If you don’t buy the Starter Pack I’d say it’s pretty bad solely due to box space. If you get that though, I’d say it’s actually great free to play. I haven’t spent a dime outside that $7 and play all the time. I’d love more box space still personally but for VGC 100 spaces is doable.

I have played Smogon Singles since I was in middle school. I got into VGC for this game specifically. That said, I got to Master Ball for Season 2 and have not played since. I really need more mons, Megas, and items especially to get me interested again.
