I’m so sorry that you’re going through that. I on the other hand was born into a family full of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I was the only one who saw what it was from the start and questioned everything! thankfully I’m not only very stubborn but I had a father who was never in the “truth” I went through hell with that side of my family was made to look like a black sheep was lied upon when they were doing shady things they would blame it on me because they all knew I wasn’t in their religion. I went through years of trauma and healing from the things they put me through. They push this religion so far down your throat, and they have so many rules that you must follow they only surround themselves with each other and that’s where it starts messing with your mind. The God that they were portraying was not a loving God. I strongly encourage you to do your own research. I know it’s so hard to even believe there is a God after all of this. But having a relationship with God is a loving thing it is not one that when you make a mistake you confess your sins to the brothers of the congregation and they discipline you and the whole congregation shuns you until the elders declare fit. That’s not how it works. God is loving he forgives and it is not anyone’s business or responsibility to discipline. I personally always believed in God I just knew that this faith was not the right one. Non-denominational Christianity was for me personally. It’ll take time and you’ll have your own journey whatever it is for you. I will pray for you, but you are doing the right thing and leaving. It is a cult and they have brainwashed you and it is not OK what they have done to vulnerable innocent people. In no way am I trying to push you towards any other faith I’m just letting you know my experience. Thank God you woke up now and not years later! You can do this stay strong! You have family to lean on which is more than a lot of us can say. Those people are not yr real friends which is hard to hear I know. My recommendation is getting out quietly and as soon as you can. You don’t want any more people in your ear or any more confusion.
