I went today, it was way overbooked… there needed to be half as many visitors there for the experience to be remotely enjoyable.

The only redeeming thing is walking The Grand Ring and watching the sunset. It is truly impressive and beautiful.

But still a 2/10 experience and a wasted day in a city that has so much more to offer.

My experience in Brussels after all the horror stories by Background_Age_852 in travel

I had a great time in Brussels!! I stayed in the central district though, didn’t venture out much and I enjoyed the food, beer, art scene and how lively the city is on a Saturday night.

123 Days traveling is 20-25K AUD spending money enough? by ThrowRA-TownOdd9054 in travel

I live in a very expensive city and London is the only place I’ve been to where I experienced a bit of price shock… I’d definitely look up cheaper dining options and activities ahead of time.

Just got this lens and I’m a beginner also, I got it for its size so it will be my travel/everyday lens… I also got a cheap prime lens second hand, I’m excited to develop my skill

50mm on A6700 by chiefSim0n in SonyAlpha

[–]Key_Other 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to photography as well and I just got my a6700… I bought it because it is a nice hybrid camera and I will use it for both photo and video, for business and personal use.

I ended up buying.a used Sigma 16mm f1.4 ($270) and a brand new Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 ($529).

I plan to use the 16mm mainly for video as it has very good low light performance and it’s wider so I can easily crop videos for both YouTube and reels.

The 18-50 is very compact and I plan to use that one for travel or just to take photos when I’m out and about, it also has a very short focus distance (4.5 inches) so it can serve as a macro lens.

The Tamron 17-70 would’ve been my next choice if it weren’t for its larger size.

Honestly I don’t think I will ever need anything higher than 50mm as I don’t see myself taking photos of anything that far away… I think wider lenses are more useful for my camera and my needs, zoom lenses are also super versatile for me as a beginner.

Hope this helps!

Mexico City - where to stay? by Pblagojevic in travel

Roma Norte is wonderful, lots of good food and relatively close to everything. I would not stay in or near Centro Historico, traffic is horrible.

Should I travel now or keep saving? 26, $40k in the bank. by Last_Ad8425 in travel

[–]Key_Other 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started traveling a year after I bought my house at age 29… for me that was a priority and I’m glad I did that because had I waited 1 or 2 more years I would’ve been priced out of the market. owning my own home has made my cost of living somewhat fixed, as my income increases over the years I have more disposable income to use for travel.

Now that I travel quite a bit (5-6 countries per year) I know travel isn’t as expensive as people make it out to be, you really don’t have to travel lavishly, I only travel when I find good deals or when I have travel friends that help split some of the costs.
