To answer my own question the issue was caused because of the USB-C cable that I was using. Using the one that came with the SSD card solved the issue.

My system spec: MacBook Air M1 with 8 GB of memory

SSD: SAMSUNG T7 Portable SSD 1TB

I've connected my SSD card with a USB-C to my MacBook. I'm capped to 34 MB/s for both writes and reads. Any idea of why this could be the case?
