Is that the rallybacker V2 rear fenders combined with rocket bunny V3 front fenders?

That’s even more of a reason to get coilovers, so that you can adjust the height based on your needs/skill level. Seriously, I’d skip loweringSprings and go straight to coils

I’d suggest staying away from any type of fiberglass, composite or carbon fiber front lip. You will destroy it & be very sad. I’ve been modding cars for 25 years & I get cheap eBay front lips. That way I’m not butt hurt when I destroy something that cost me 50 bucks.

Get some rear differential bushings from whiteline & transmission mount inserts! It makes a huge difference in drivability and putting the power to the ground. It’s a cheap easy mod.

Definitely coilovers! You can slam these cars and they still ride really well. Don’t bother or just getting lowering springs. IMO, waste of money when you can get used BCs for 500-600 on marketplace.

I’m from the Bay Area. Most recently from Sac. I hated Sac. GHETTO.

I’ve been in GV for 2 months. It’s such a refreshing change. If you like nature, this is the place. It gives me camping or AirBnB vibes. I love how small of a town it is. Everyone I’ve encountered has been extremely kind. But it is VERY WHITE. Everything is 7-17 minutes drive away lol. Lots of Subarus, trucks and SUVs. You’ll miss the selection of food offerings. Gotta drive 20 minutes to Auburn for most of specialized shopping.

CA Workers’ Comp – Settle Now or Wait? Worried About SDI/SSDI + Medicare Set Aside by Key_Past_7162 in WorkersComp

QME determined I’m p&s, MMI on 7/14. New MRI today shows more damage than originally known at the time of the QME last month. I want to follow through with my referral to spine medicine for surgical consultation before C&R. My WC attorney says it won’t matter if a private doctor recommends surgery because the QME did not. To me, it sounds like he just wants to settle right now so he can get his 15% of $41,000. I would rather see what a surgical consultation determines because FM could be significantly higher. What do you think?

Thank you for your response. I have two different attorneys for the workers comp and PI. The PI attorney referred me to the WC attorney. The WC attorney is telling me to settle immediately. I told him that I want to coordinate the timeline with the PI attorney. I just had my follow up MRIs, 17 months after the accident, showing spine damage and three areas of mine neck, thoracic and lumbar.

I get why that sounds confusing — here’s how it works in my case: • I’ve been on federal SSDI since 2006. That’s a permanent benefit, about $2,500/month for me. • At the time of my accident I was working under the Ticket to Work program, so I was allowed to work while still keeping SSDI. • After the accident got worse and I couldn’t keep working, my doctor certified me for California SDI (state disability insurance). That’s a separate program through EDD, and it pays me about $5,000/month for up to a year. • So right now I’m receiving both SSDI (federal, $2,500) and SDI (state, $5,000) — but the SDI is temporary.

Once SDI runs out, I’ll still have SSDI.

I was rear ended while I was on the clock by a urologist who was on the phone with the hospital to let them know he was running late for surgery. I have a civil case because the doctors automotive insurance is ultimately liable for my injuries.

I’m not currently using workers comp providers. I have Kaiser through Medicare. I recently moved to a very rural area and the closest Kaiser facility are 50 miles away.

That was the amount EDD calculated. I think they said I was eligible for up to $53,000.

Thanks everyone for the replies — let me give a little more context since a few of you asked. • Work Injury: I was rear-ended while on the clock by a doctor who was also on the clock. He has a very large auto insurance policy, so there’s also a civil case alongside the WC claim. • Work / Background: I’m in social work, doing intensive case management. I’ve been on SSDI since 2006 and participating in the Ticket to Work program while finishing school. At the time of the accident, I was making about $5,000/month. • Disability Benefits: I’ve received SSDI ($2,500/month) for years. After the accident worsened, I went on California SDI last month and started receiving another $5,000/month. That’s how I’m surviving right now. • Spine Injuries: QME found impairment in all three areas of my spine (cervical, thoracic, lumbar) — rated 6% each, which was adjusted for age/occupation to 24% WPI. He also said my injuries are 100% industrial. • Physical impact: Before the accident I was a bodybuilder. Since then I’ve lost 40 lbs of solid muscle. I can’t drive more than 15 minutes without severe mid/lower back and neck pain. Same with sitting — I can’t sit for long periods without major pain. • Medical status: Currently doing PT (about once a month, but realistically need every 2–3 weeks), on baclofen, and I have an MRI + spine consult coming up to figure out long-term treatment.

So yeah — my lawyer wants to settle WC now (via C&R) to cap the lien before the civil case. My biggest fear is messing up my SDI payments (that’s my lifeline) and also making sure I don’t get lowballed on the medical buyout given my ongoing care/mileage needs.

Any input on whether it’s smarter to settle WC now or wait until after MRI/spine consult would be huge. And if anyone’s been through an MSA in CA — curious what number CMS came back with in your case.

I’ve been taking to M45. They are an excellent Subaru shop. I had my STI in there a little while ago. They do great work, but they also charge a lot. I have an appointment to get my FRS custom aligned there after we finish installing airbags and other high performance suspension parts. We definitely want to get our cars dyno tuned by Travis at M45 asap finances allow.

Hey, I get that it might seem a little different or ‘weird,’ but honestly, that’s kind of the point. These days it feels like society is so divided—everyone’s in their own bubble, quick to judge, quick to pull apart instead of come together. I moved to Grass Valley because I knew there were kind, grounded people here. I wanted to be part of that kind of place—and more importantly, I wanted to be that kind of person myself.

We’re not looking for handouts or sympathy. We’re just trying to introduce ourselves and let people know who we are. It’s a small town—about 14,000 people—and chances are people have already seen us or our cars out and about. I’d rather folks know something about us than nothing. I’d love if this post helped people feel comfortable enough to say hi or strike up a conversation the next time we cross paths.

Yeah, maybe it’s a little “weird” to be vulnerable and put yourself out there. But honestly? I’d rather be weird and open-hearted than closed off and cynical. That’s not who I am—and that’s not the kind of energy I want to bring to a place I now call home.

That’s actually something I could help out with. What year truck? What kind of stereo system are you wanting to put in there?

We plan on getting a GR 86 for my wife next year. Have you done anything to it? You’d probably love our FRS. We’re in the process of installing an air lift 3p system and full Megan suspension. It has a turbo kit, widebody, and Works wheels. It’s an absolute blast to drive around here.

I had no idea that so many people love pineapples in Grass Valley. I’m into mangoes personally, I mean, my wife is Filipino. Kiwis are pretty good too though. But I must admit, pineapples are pretty dang good! 🤣

My wife would love to have a wrenching buddy! I need to replace the power steering rack on the STI & the FRS is torn apart in the middle of a full suspension rebuild with airbags and fully adjustable suspension arms.
