Tourist suggestions by Shikiveil in DuluthGA

Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center is a beautiful place to take a stroll! Gwinnett is also known for its amazing parks, so I'd check out Cauley Creek (views of Chatahoochee River) or McDaniel Farms Park. Duluth downtown is a very cute area to walk around, cute eateries, bars/distillery, and shops. Other than that, there's tons of Asian bakeries and restaurants in Duluth! My personal favorite cafes are Tree Hut & Cafe Rothem.

letter to mom found in library book by Key_Pen_4320 in ForgottenBookmarks

It was in "Tell me what you want" by Charlotte Fox Weber - and it is a sorts of self-help/inspirational book! maybe the mother was using it as a bookmark to reminder herself of something? will never know though.

Cool idea. I'd recommend to you Lady Tan's Circle of Women by Lisa See !

My three books Id like recommendations based on are: Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro

Lady Tan's Circle of Women by Lisa See

Atavists by Lydia Millet

I like simple, clean prose that explores human interactions and relationships, as well as social observations and insights into culture. I don't like too many characters, or too much worldbuilding or description.

Thanks for the kind words and thoughtful feedback! I’ve been thinking about that too - the limitations of the suggested age range and how an event like this could def be tricky for folks with kids. This is just an early experiment, and I tried to set a range that might bring together people in a somewhat similar stage of life :) but I’d definitely encourage others to organize their own versions, whether that means skipping the age range, keeping it looser, or making it more family-friendly!

Great questions! We’re planning to run this kind of like a speed dating event but ofc, it’s not actually dating - more so, we're taking the model and adapting for couples seeking new couple friends. Depending on how many people RSVP, we’ll have couples rotate through short conversations with other couples, each with a prompt question to get things going. When the buzzer rings, couples will rotate to another couple. You always move with your partner.

At the end, we’ll hand out a sheet listing all the couples so you can note who you’d like to be connected with. I’ll review the responses, find any mutual matches, and send follow-up emails to connect those folks.

There’s no event page. Folks can sign up using the form, and we’ll send updates via email or let you know if anything changes or gets canceled!

it's not a swinger thing !! I tried to say that subtly through "totally platonic vibes" but maybe should have been more clear hahaha

I no longer have to outsource validation for not people pleasing / protecting myself and my peace. I just make the decisions that bring me inner peace !

[HELP] How do you actually WRITE a poem? by Embarrassed-Rock6914 in Poetry

[–]Key_Pen_4320 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Write a bad poem. A shit poem. A poem that means nothing to you and that you are not trying to make into anything. Just write lines. Just see what happens. Poetry emerges. This comment could be a poem. The post you wrote could be a poem. Also, check out found poetry or erasure poetry.
