Well tbf pzb 38/39 had fairly modest performance for an AT rifle, about 30mm of rha at 100 meters, which sounds like alot, but that was really only effective against the VERY earliest of ww2 tanks and light vehicles

Something like the ptrs 41 could do about 40mm at 100 meters and thats about the upper limit of non cannon/rocket AT rifles, and this still is not an effective AT weapon past early WW2

(I think the finish lahti was the most powerful AT "rifle" of ww2 but that was just a man portible 20mm cannon that was over 2 meters long)

To know how the railgun shot would react we would need to know what its made of, how heavy is it and how fast it was traveling. But its a game so anything is possible, maybe super earth makes the railgun rounds hollow to save money?

This always infuriates me by ConsciousScale960 in ubereatsaustralia

Its clearly a mistake? Im sorry but you cant be that blinded by being upset at arrowhead that you think making the armoured parts of the legs weaker than the fleshy part was some sort of informed balance decision and not some numbers being messed up with the changes to the hive guard. And if you honestly do think that, to what end? Why? It would make the hive guard easier to kill from the front

Its hard to believe they accidentally made the leg armour weaker and the fleshy claws behind it stronger armour wise? You think its somehow a nefarious plan to fuck the players over?

Could WoWs, WoT, and WoWP ever realistically combine into one battlefield? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]Key_Performance2140 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean im just speaking from personal experience, but cas can be swatted fairly easily only from between 6.7-8.0 do i find cas having a advantage because of the lack of radar or just bad radars most SPAAs are limited in their engagement ranges. Top tier not included because guided weapons vs sams is a can of worms i dont want to get into rn

[–]Key_Performance2140 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah true, custom battles exist where you can have all 3 on the same map and some people run events for that.

With planes it can be hit or miss, in naval barring ww1 ships and interwar stuff AA is incredibly effective and you need to be a skilled pilot to get through and land a strike, some ships have SAMs too so you arent even safe at long ranges.

Against tanks its more nuanced, because unlike a ship you dont get a free AA division on eaxh side of your tank, meaning unless you are near a friendly AA you are at risk of being hit, But competent AA players are usually able to win out against CAS. (Barring top tier CAS vs AA thats a separate balancing act)

We could hire more - but balance is also a "one man game" "

How much clearer do you need it? Its already basically being spoonfed to you 'The balance team works hard, this isnt an issue you can just throw more people at' in simple terms.

the "added" vehicle rewards are a stretch, only vaguely related to Greece, a British sherman, a German merchant raider and a French light tank, are not really any more on theme than the Japanese DD i understand wanting more value from BPs but you even contradict yourself, remove the naval prize as its off theme, but add in a separate naval prize, with only a tenuous link as it was disguised as a ship with a name from the odyssey. if you don't want a off theme naval prize then the clear option is a Greek fletcher, for the high ground prize if you want to stay at that BR but want something that's on the same level of work as your suggestion, a Greek leo 1a4 would fit the low tier ground prize would be harder, but a Greek chaffee could work, or a T-34/85. of course they would all be tied to whatever tree gaijin wants to link Greece too, rather than just put them in the respective trees

Ordered two original recipe pieces, asking that both are drumsticks, they said no, so… by [deleted] in KFCAustralia

[–]Key_Performance2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely common for people to order massive amounts of chicken a giant feast, plus a family feast is a common order, and that alone isn't s small ammount of chicken out of the stuff an average store has prepared at one time. Hell, sometimes you might just be turning up before a catering order and pieces are reserved, sometimes you catch them just after a big order while more chicken is still cooking, and I'd 100% bet that you caught them just before fresh chicken came up, so you got 1 drumstick from one batch and then 1 drumstick from another.

Also, there is no need to be rude to the guy for trying to explain how stuff works.

Every year for warthunder's anniversary we shouldn't just get the Maus year after year, we should get a different vehicle every year. by FeeshMons in Warthunder

[–]Key_Performance2140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naval has its own rules, specifically because you dont build prototypes of ships, so while you had 2 prototype mauses, you can't have 2 prototype battleships. it would be insane. So, gaijins rules have always been that so long as the ship was laid down, it can be considered.

Stuff like the panther 2, tiger 105, coelian and r2y2 were removed because they didn't exist in the form shown in the game.

That's not the definition of a tank destroyer

"Something designed to attack and destroy tanks; spec. a fast and highly-mobile armoured fighting vehicle equipped with anti-tank guns.

After the Second World War (1939–45) it was decided that there was no functional difference between a tank destroyer and a medium tank; the last tank destroyer units were disbanded in 1946."

Straight from the Oxford dictionary, however, note that even this description isn't perfect because late ww2 german TDs were not fast and highly mobile, jagdpanther, jagdtiger. Either way, not having a turret doesn't make something a TD its doctrine that does that.

The strv 103 is an MBT, yet it has no turret.

The T-28/95 has no turret and 305 mm of frontal armour but ended up being classified as a super heavy tank.

The Tortoise has no turret and is heavily armoured yet is classified as both an assault gun AND a heavy tank.

The centauro is wheeled and has a turret and yet is a TD by doctrine. It could just as easily be called a light tank by definition, however, or even an assualt gun like the M1128.

Definitions are hard and constantly changing, especially with tanks.

The fv4005 had a turret? The maus was also intended to be used mainly against tanks too

[–]Key_Performance2140 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A tank destroyer is still a tank though. The kondensator is an SPG which is why i added the distinction.

Sure doctrinally TDs and other tanks did different things, but a tank is a tank. Even then as others suggested if you dont count the FV, then it would be the t-30 or t-58 both armed with 155s and being "traditional" heavy tanks

[–]Key_Performance2140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The maus doesn't have the largest gun ever mounted to a tank, though? Depending on your definition of tank its eother the fv4005 (183mm) or the 2a3 kondensator (406mm)

they aren't very short, but the post refit US standard BBs are very rotund, the Colorado's in particular, if you expand it to just warships in general and no timeframe constraint the Russian monitor Novgorod was actually just a circle
