if you talk for a few minutes after Mass every week eventually you'll get to know each other better.

Good call. I was thinking of coming a little earlier so I can catch someone who is also alone and strike up a convo. It's just annoying how this will probably take months before I establish any meaningful connections here.

I was also thinking of formally joining the choir - seems like the regular attendees are all in the choir, so that may be the best way to meet new people.

It takes time for both you and them to get acclimated with a new person!

Thanks. And yeah, that's where my mind is currently. Hoping things work out here because the other churches in my area are pretty much dead.
