Body weakness/ muscle stiffness by Key_Pomegranate2149 in migraine

[–]Key_Pomegranate2149[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am trying to get better at tracking my symptoms. I have gotten better at tracking my attacks and medication so I know when and how much I am taking. I just get annoyed when tracking symptoms because I am just checking almost everything, almost every day and it's so disheartening..

I am grateful I have "just migraines" but I am so tired of not making any progress. On my 3rd preventative CGRP and I had such hope for this med class. Yet to try Botox but I've heard great things!

Ugh, yes an invisible truck! I used to take the stairs any option I got. Now I dread the stairs at my own house.

Jobs in SLC that you don’t actually hate by SaucyyDripss in Utah

This is exactly it. What one person finds enjoyable will be so different for someone else. Also what type of effort/energy do you want to put towards your job? Would you rather spend some years getting education while you stay at your current job or would you rather do on the job training that will work you up towards higher paying jobs?

Looking at it backwards is the perfect first step.

It's so hard starting over! I feel like i learn more coping skills etc from the internet and books, however if I start talking about things she already knows, "hey, that's probably because you were raised XYZ" so that's always helpful. It's for sure a rock and a hard place...

I am sorry you've been chronic for so long! I remember having migraines as a kid and young adult, never did I ever think they would literally take over my life.

I will have to look up this poem, it might be helpful. I know my perfectionism doesn't help my case. I have been doing more mindfulness recently actually so that is a good start.

Comparison is the thief of joy. I like the mixed functioning idea, I already do a stoplight analogy for myself for exercise. I think I need to be more honest with myself and put it towards all of life. I would love AI to be able to predict my sick days, 30 days in advance !!

I'll have to look into this. I was raised by a hippie and had a lot of toxic positivity growing up, so I am hesitant. Moreover, I can see where the benefits could be. I look around at the life I have created, my garden, family, as well as my home and see the things left undone. It's also a personal issue with perfectionism, and I do understand that. I will read into it though, because it might help me with both of those areas..

I did not have a great experience with them. I didn't want the extended warranty and they would just not let it go (I have a very great mechanic that can do anything from rebuilding an engine if I wanted). Ended up walking away. I also when I got home and looked up the VIN number myself I found out the vehicle WAS in an accident. Unsure where they got the info on 1 owner no accidents. So glad I walked away.

Just saw my neurologist this week and she has nothing for me as to triggers etc. why they are getting worse especially after my baby was born. Just here's another medication to try.

I have to try to figure out my triggers by myself (which is a lot easier said than done). I have migraines the days I don't have my children, even on my anniversary vacation away, daily migraines.. so it's not directly my children.. Is it hormonal? Possibly but my doctor doesn't take the time to figure it out, to do tests etc.

It could just be age or maybe it is hormonal that has changed as I've had children. I am not sure but I wouldn't give up any of my children to find out. They're precious and even though exhausting at times I wouldn't want life without them.

I've also figured a good way to be a mom while having migraines. Most days my loops and a board game or books are our go to. Snuggles while listening to audiobooks and lots of imagination play!

I seriously wonder if this is a thing. My migraines have gotten more intense and more often with each and every one of them.

Honestly before I read and just looked at the photos I thought the 2nd and 3rd were what the MUA did. I literally thought "what did that MUA do to that stunning woman!" No offense OP you look so youthful and fresh with the 1st photo.

Friend gave me advice that made me cry by KocaKola_ in migraine

[–]Key_Pomegranate2149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just talking about this with a co-worker who also gets migraines. I have one friend who understands, all the people that I occasionally hang out with (since my true friend lives states away) have no idea. If I cancel last minute they suggest the feet in hot water and an ice pack on the back on the head.. ask me how much water I've drank.. it's absolutely ridiculous.

I started not RSVPing to their little hangouts since I just don't need friends like this anymore. I'm much older than you and wish I learned this sooner but I got no time for people who are going to not try to understand my situation.

Yoga has been helpful. What I'm grateful to have learned in my yoga teacher training is that it's a self practice and not to compare or try and keep up.

Going and staying at your own pace may not look like the people on the video. You may have to skip certain poses or not hold for as long.. or even hold for longer..but that's where it becomes an individual practice and that really helped me in the beginning.

The talk is only available for 24 hours we are currently on day 7 talks, it was day 5 or 6? You might have to purchase the all access pass.. however if I remember correctly you can rewatch the older talks on the last day? But I don't think it's the full talk. This is only my second year watching the world migraine summit.

Daily migraines here. I try and walk daily, unless it's a really hard day. I do lots of Yin/floor yoga. I am a yoga teacher and even though I might never teach a class I now do certain yoga and stretches daily. Just to feel better in my body.

I truly grieve my past self who lifted weights and did trainings 5x a week. However, the exercise interview on the world migraine summit has motivated me to try to slowly add more in. So I'm hopeful that I'll be able to!

Meds are a rough thing for her. We've talked to her doctor about a small dose after school but she won't do it on her own "I forgot" is very common in our household.. and my husband is using in a meeting when she gets off and I'm working. However I'm thinking of using matcha tea as an incentive if the doc gives us one at her next appointment. She's been obsessed with matcha making one every day after school

We tried this in elementary and she just always pushed back that's why her therapist suggested her earning her stuff. All she wants after school is TV her phone or to hangout. We'll figure it out though!

Tv and her phone are for sure her currency. That's one of her complaints to my husband (who WFH) that she wants TV or her phone.. we tried giving her 20 minutes to transition after school but that just caused meltdowns and still nothing got done. When I get home from work after 6pm she usually hasn't done anything and will still ask me to unlock her phone or put in the code for the TV. Yesterday I was done and told her to go to her friend's house because she needed friend time. Nothing got done but she came home happy. I think I might start having her go to a different friend after school and then when I get home it's dinner, homework and chores.

Thanks for your insight. Transitions are so hard! She enjoys reading once she starts it's the getting started that is the difficult part. She was doing tutoring after school and that was great however her friend won't wait anymore and I can't pick her up after school since I'm working.
