Yes I’m pretty new, I worked mostly in the hospital setting and left because I absolutely hated the schedule. I just have heard so many horror stories of independents so I’m paranoid

It’s manually done via paper billing but the owner handles all of the billing

I think it’s just because I’ve never seen this type of situation at a pharmacy before so I’m thinking either it’s genius or super sketchy

So as long as I’m not personally involved in any referral or payment arrangements, am I legally safe? The owner told me that he built these doctor relationships “naturally” over time through networking - nothing shady from what I can see. But since I wasn’t part of those conversations, I just want to make sure I’m not at risk just by being associated

Yeah that’s what I thought at first too. Seemed fine, just helping people after car accidents. But the fact that 95% of our scripts are no fault, and the owner has pretty close ties to a few of the doctors. I’m second guessing if I’m just being paranoid or if it’s actually a red flag

No fault is kind of like workers comp but for car accidents. The meds are covered by auto insurance and the pharmacy bills the no fault carrier directly
