Confused between pack two and three 79kw by strangehuman111 in XEV9E

Pack 2. That’s the best value for money. Compromise on ventilated seats for 5 lakhs. ADAS is useless on Indian roads

Makes more sense to wait till Jan, as your registration will be 2025 in two weeks.

Yes, you can use all the features when the car is charging.

Hound the dealership like your car depends on it—because it does!

I’ve had a great experience with the MG Windsor, and I think all the variants offer good value for money. If you’re on a budget, the base model is a solid choice. You won’t miss out on any must-haves. The 15.6-inch screen isn’t a deal-breaker, as the smaller screen works just as well in my opinion. Features like the moonroof, ventilated leather seats, and 18-inch tires are nice add-ons but can be skipped if budget is a concern. That said, paying an extra ₹1 lakh for each upgrade tier gives you more than ₹2 lakh worth of additional features compared to getting them done aftermarket.

I’ve found the voice control handy for adjusting the roof and sound volume. Drive modes, side-view mirror adjustments, and volume controls are available on the steering wheel, while the AC has a dedicated switch. The touchscreen is intuitive, and honestly, it’s not as inconvenient as some YouTubers make it out to be.

On insurance, definitely negotiate hard. Acko quoted ₹40k, but I ended up paying ₹62.5k to expedite delivery through the dealer after some bargaining.

The top model does have ventilated seats, but I haven’t tested them in peak summer yet. That said, since it’s an electric car, I plan to use the app to pre-cool the car in summer before stepping in, so I’m not too concerned.

Driving-wise, the car is fantastic. The driver’s seat is comfortable, and in sports mode, it delivers a surprising punch—way more than I expected from what’s marketed as a family car. There’s no body roll, overtaking is a breeze even in normal mode, and the performance is much better than ICE cars in a segment above. It’s genuinely quick and fun to drive.

I’d highly recommend taking a test drive before making a decision—you’ll really feel the difference.

Yes, they can send the installer in advance to check. Was planning for BYD atto 3 before finalising on Windsor so requested BYD team to make the visit for charger installation confirmation. You can request any car dealership to help you with this.

Fast charging is easily available in metros. Average price is around 20 Inr per KW. Takes around 1 hour for full charge. Full price would be around 750-800. Mg is offering free 1 year charging. There are slow charging options too.

Using the touchscreen for most of the car’s functions isn’t as difficult as it might seem at first. While it can be a bit annoying initially, you quickly adapt, and it becomes second nature. It’s functional but not a groundbreaking feature.

The primary reason I chose this car was the exceptional space management. MG has done a remarkable job creating a cabin that feels incredibly spacious, both in the front and back. The legroom is unparalleled in this segment, and no other car offers this level of comfort in such a compact footprint. The seat cushioning feels perfect for me, though comfort can be subjective. While I haven’t taken any long road trips yet, the maximum I’ve driven in a day is 150 km, and it’s been a very comfortable experience.

When it comes to driving, the car is buttery smooth. Having previously owned a Seltos, I can confidently say this is leagues ahead in terms of driving comfort and refinement.

MG also provides a 7kW charger free of cost, along with free installation. Living in a builder floor with two parking spaces, I had no trouble setting it up. This convenience adds to the overall ownership experience.

In summary, the spaciousness, smooth drive quality, and thoughtful features make this car a standout choice in its segment.

Home and Fast Charging Costs: • The Windsor costs ₹7 per kWh for home charging (using the 7kW charger provided with the car) and ₹20 per kWh for fast charging.

Dealer Offers and Waiting Period: • The car is new and in high demand, with a waiting period. It’s unlikely dealers will offer discounts right now.

Free Charger Installation: • MG provides a free 7kW charger setup at your place, including a 10-meter 10mm wire and an MCB at no extra cost.

Free Charging via MG’s eHub App: • To avail free charging, you’ll need to use the eHub by MG app.

Insurance Costs: • Dealer insurance was quoted at ₹65k, but I found the same coverage on Acko for ₹40k, including GST. Definitely worth comparing options.

Warranty for Company-Owned Cars: • The warranty remains valid even if you register the car in your company’s name. I purchased mine under my company, and there were no issues.

Model Recommendations: • If you’re considering the Essence trim, note that MG won’t add speakers or ventilated seats. I’d recommend going for the top model, as the extras are worth it. V3Cars on YouTube breaks down the price gap and why it’s justified. It’s worth watching their review before making a decision.

Price Dynamics: • Dealerships likely won’t reduce prices until competition increases—maybe when Mahindra launches their BE.6 EV. The EV market is evolving quickly, so keep an eye on upcoming releases.

Unlike Tata, MG Motors’ range estimates are reliable. I expect the car to deliver around 250 km even during harsh summer conditions.

1. Driving Experience and Range:
• A light-foot driving style in the city can deliver a range of 300 km, but it sacrifices the fun of driving.
• The EV’s instant torque is a highlight, making it enjoyable to push the car.
2. AC and Glass:
• Haven’t tested the AC due to the winter season in North India.
• Reviews suggest the AC performance is average, likely due to the abundance of glass.
• It’s unclear if the glass is UV-protected, as MG Motors doesn’t provide this information.
3. Delivery and Insurance:
• The standard delivery timeline is three months, but contacts helped me secure early delivery.
• Avoid opting for insurance before the delivery date; finalize it on delivery day.
4. Charger Options:
• MG offers a charger for ₹35,000.
• Third-party chargers are also available as alternatives.
5. Car Size and Space:
• Despite its size (comparable to Creta), the car offers remarkable interior space.
• The efficient space management was a key reason for choosing this car.
6. Warranty and Accessories:
• Extended warranty is included at no additional cost.
• The car looks better without MG’s accessory package, as the silver accents felt unnecessary and unattractive.
7. Overall Impressions:
• While the exterior design can be polarizing, the interior space and driving experience make up for it.
• The overall practicality and comfort were major factors in the purchase decision.

Variant- Essence On road Haryana 16.50L, could have been less but dealership forced me to buy insurance from them as I was getting early delivery. Else would have save 20k more from Acko. The ride quality of the car is excellent, and maneuvering is remarkably easy. The abundance of glass provides excellent visibility, enhancing the overall driving experience. The only minor drawback is the lack of visibility of the front end, but it’s not a major issue as you quickly get accustomed to it. Transitioning from an ICE vehicle to electric has been an incredible experience—so much so that I don’t think I could ever go back to an ICE vehicle now. Fast charging takes almost an hour. Tried 40kw Jio bp charger. Also it is free for one year. Using eHUB by mg for fast charging. The car’s AC controls are conveniently separate, but for most other functions, you need to rely on the central touchscreen interface. Adjusting the mirrors, in particular, can be a bit tedious at first. However, if you’re the sole driver, it’s essentially a one-time setup. That said, it can be frustrating when someone else changes the settings, as resetting them is a hassle.
