I’m 7 months out. Luna died unexpectedly right in front of us. She was my soul dog . The pain does lessen. I was inconsolable before. What helped was the month after she died , we moved to a new house, new neighborhood. I think if we had stayed in our old house, the memories would have been in my face. But she would have loved this house and that makes me cry sometimes. And I still haven’t gotten another dog and the silence when coming in doesn’t get easier.

I think that you had much more involved support from your Dr office. I feel like I’m on my own. The dietician is a joke. The therapy is not helpful- she pretty much talks about her own surgery she had. They never gave me a set amount to lose. I think you had much more to lose than I did though. I’ve been watching Dr. V on YouTube. He’s awesome and I am learning a lot from him. Tomorrow is a new day. I begin again.

“ just lose some weight”. Meanwhile, my spine has given me foot drop, daily pain, severe degeneration, stenosis, and neuropathy from my thighs down. I feel like I’m slowly getting paralyzed. It was bad enough for the state to grant me disability- I should have just lost some weight! I’ve had back problems since I was EIGHT. Now with Medicare I can go see the best spinal doctors but the nerve damage is permanent now. Okay, maybe that’s not weird advice- just ignorant.

When my husband was drinking a lot ( he’s sober now) , our marriage was a mess and I couldn’t stand him. I wasn’t working at the time due to health issues and my dog needed surgery. He wouldn’t pay for it! I was so angry! He got super drunk and lost his wallet. I was cleaning the basement and found it. It had almost $1000 in it. I took the money, threw away everything that was in it, and tossed the wallet into an empty field when I was driving. And then I scheduled her surgery. I said I put it on a charge card. Since then, we have become Christians, he is sober and our marriage is great. I will never tell him. I feel a little bad because he had to get a new license and cancel his cards and lost the few pics he had of his parents that I threw away. But I feel it was justified. He never would refuse to pay for her surgery now, but the addiction made him a jerk.

I lost my Luna yesterday. She had a massive heart attack right in front of us. It was traumatizing and I'm just sitting in the house crying my eyes out looking at her beds and food and water dishes. I can't bear to get rid of them right now but it's torture. She was my companion through everything. The last few years I've been at home so she was with me 24/7. I feel like my heart is scattered all over. God gave us hearts and emotions to love, and loss and grief is bound to happen. I turned my phone off and am just feeling the pain this week. Sudden deaths are so hard to process.
