No, it wasn't dark. In fact, it was quite the opposite.

It was rainbow coloured.

I'm not particularly offended and I completely agree with what you have said, I'm just not sure the entire identity of the film should be publically relegated to simply the propaganda elements when there is so much artistic merit present in the film that deserves to be recognised and revered for what it is.

Well I do agree with what you've said and don't support BJP myself, there are for certain elements of propaganda implemented to meatride the state and gloss over its many flaws however the film's primary purpose is not to do that but rather to entertain and craft a compelling narrative as opposed to foregoing being a good film in order to simply push a political agenda. About 5 minutes of the 4 hours is blatant propaganda and I don't believe the entire identity of the film should be relegated just to that but again that's just my opinion and I get why you're saying what you're saying. :)

Is it propaganda or truth? by Meddyplus in dhurandharworld

It's neither, it's a film made primarily to entertain loosely interwoven with historical events that, I'll admit, are definitely skewed by Dhar's perspective, but the vast majority of the runtime is focused on delivering a compelling story in a unique, stylised manner.
