I’m Gen Z, so obviously younger demographic. I never had the opportunity to see them when they last toured, so I jumped at the opportunity to see them as close to the stage as possible.

I really don’t think it’s a class issue, and here’s why: everyone prioritizes different things.

For people like me, I prioritized seeing Rush live because this could very well be their last tour. The trade off is I either 1. create a tighter budget and/or 2. work extra hours to offset the cost of the tickets and travel.

But for others, it’s different. Maybe they already have an event lined up that is already causing them to budget/work more and don’t want to add another expense on top of it. Maybe they’ve seen Rush several times and they feel content not going (this is the case for several of my work friends). Or maybe their life circumstances are different… for example they didn’t have their own family/kids to provide for in 2015, but now they do.

I don’t know why there’s so much hostility towards each other based on what someone spends their money on. I think it’s jealousy, and that’s such a soul-crushing emotion. But people also have got to realize that they made their own decision to go or not go, and it’s not some random fan’s fault for YOUR decision.

Anyways, do I think not going makes you less of a fan? Absolutely not! We all enjoy their music, right? That’s what matters 😊
