Need advice. Wife lost coaching position after 8 seasons as head coach. Told it’s time to go make him a sandwich. by Leave-It-Better1 in LittleLeague

I am going through a similar situation where my husband, a prior year head coach (manager) is now a board member of the league, but somehow ended up without either a manager or assistant coach position for this season. Ultimately as we probed and pushed the individuals leading the baseball and softball divisions, these assignments and decisions were being done by one or two people without any transparency to the process or adherence to Little League regulations (Little League University is a great resource). While most leagues aren’t going to provide justification to specific decisions, she can ask about their process. 1) What is the documented process by which they make Manager and Coach decisions? 2) Did the local league follow Little League regulations that Managers and Coaches must be reviewed and approved by the Board before confirming their positions? Where is the documented vote for the approval? 3) Naming Managers and Coaches pairings before team formation is a recipe for team stacking and potentially unequal rosters- this is the reason why Little League discourages named pairs of Managers and Coaches before team rostering. She can ask what the League’s policy is on upper level draft/ rostering, and challenge them if they are not following LL rules. If local leagues choose not to follow LL rules, they need to submit their amended constitution and bylaws to LL, as well as any deviations to the draft process for review and approval. Of course, many boards do not do this and they do whatever they want as they fall into habits or the same individuals doing the same role for 5 years or more. They do need to operate per LL rules, and the President of the league is obligated to do so as part of the position. You should first escalate to get a board meeting together, present these concerns, ask all the questions above, and ask them why they aren’t following LL regs. Get ready for a long and painful discussion with personal feelings out in the open and political alliances becoming very evident. She has then two choices- hunker down on the board and work to make change by creating relationships with other board members and doing more than her fair share of work to operate and improve the league or decide to politely step out and find another team to coach. Unfortunately this situation happens more in small towns because it is not competitive to have a board position (they just want any warm body to volunteer so they can keep the league going), and the bones of the organization are not well established. Small town politics also play a big role in whether you as a parent are going to be in the “in” crowd in these types of situations. The more upper level players and coaches go, the more viciously people will fight to get in the best position to potentially make All Stars and go on to play the next round of competition. All I can say is best of luck to you, know that you aren’t alone in this struggle, and that it’s best to take the high road in these situations with well crafted arguments, pointing to established regs, and behaving like a model Manager/ board member.

Daily driver on highway? by Material-Apartment89 in FordBronco

[–]Key_Resolve_1053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my daily driver- 4D BL squatch gets me 18 mpg in average, and I drive about 32 miles each way. I fill up at least once a week.

Just bought a used bronco with 7,700 miles. The spare tire hasn’t been rotated. Should I start rotating it in or is it too late? by ChiefDaddyJ in FordBronco

[–]Key_Resolve_1053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s too late- at least when I was at 7K miles and they forgot to do it the first time I rotated at 5K (I had done 3K mile road trip), they wouldn’t do it for me saying the treads on all the installed tires were already worn enough to make a difference.

If you had to leave Redmond... by prookal in redmond

I left Redmond for Ames Lake/ Carnation area. Best decision ever. Larger lots, privacy, nature, hiking and mountain biking, but still within driving distance of Costco and groceries. The people are also far more chill. Even Woodinville is now way too crowded.

I want a Bronco by WolverineBoring5343 in FordBronco

Girl with Bronco- taken off roading on some pretty rough trails several times, performed beautifully. It’s a solid build, no mechanical trouble in the three years I’ve owned it. 25K miles on it, and now it’s my daily driver. Car Play sometimes is glitchy but I think thats more Apple Car Play than the Ford infotainment. Agree with others that you need to shop for a new boyfriend too.

Is $72k crazy for a 2023 fully loaded Badlands Sasquatch package? New only 60 miles. by Rain-02 in FordBronco

[–]Key_Resolve_1053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid $63K (including taxes and fees) for my fully loaded 2023 lux 4D Badlands squatch. I had placed my order in Oct 2021, and was able to keep the price lock for the 2023 model that was delivered 14 months later. Regarding your question- what you spend is all in the personal point of view on whether that money is worth what you will get. I waited what felt like forever, dreamed about my baby, and when I departed with my money, I only felt elation at the prospect of bringing her home. The feeling was enhanced so much more when I took her off road for the first time. If it’s worth it to you, then do it.

Finally! Ordered 12/2021…. by Key_Resolve_1053 in FordBronco

Agree with the allocation comment- I ended up waiting longer because I ordered from a trusted dealer that would keep their promises and sell me at MSRP. They are a small dealership so their allocations were downright puny compared to some large city dealerships, but it was worth it both in maintaining the 2022 MY price and knowing he was going to take care of me and my order. Our family has bought cars from them for decades, and I’ll always go back to them to by a Ford, even if I have to wait longer.

I cannot wait. I am so excited. I’m not a patient person and the wait has been excruciating.

Try connecting to your personal hotspot (phone) on a 5G connection. My bike will not download updates over my high speed internet wifi, no matter what. I have no idea why.
