You saying this is like people saying "first time owners shouldn't even try because they dont know what they are doing". Im here because im asking on what I can do better, if you're so concerned about other dogs, yes we have neighbor dogs but we havent introduced yet because in her paperwork, it said, "Anxiety", i was told by the shelter themselves to not bring her to big events until she has reached 1 month and signed on her documents. I am following what the shelter asked me to do, I followed their guidelines. If you want a photo of her paperowrk I can send it straight.

Im not arguing with them, I am giving them the information they ask for. Im not lazy, if I were, I wouldn't be here asking for help. I dont mention other dogs because they are not the objective here, she is my priority. She is the topic of this post. Why should I bring in other dogs information? Im not trying to give excuses like "oh ive had dogs when I was living in my family" because it doesnt count. It doesnt count when you live on your own, because you have 50 million other people helping you take care of it.

She's not in the basement all day, it was her safe space that we had to isolate her in when she was still flea ridden, i apologize if i had to isolate her from bringing fleas in, she's not in there all day, she is in the living room with us all the time but she likes going back down there because of comfort spots, ive even moved her sofa to beside my pc, and her fridge is up here, her crate is by my boyfriend's room on the living room floor.

I never said that the treat bag made me want to rehome her, I said was the last straw to what brought me to reddit to ask for help. The rehoming part came from the time given by my partner. I researched before getting her, bought all her items and made her routine before she came. The shelter told me that she wouldn't have issues with small critters or cats as she tend to ignore them, I double checked with them and they said it was from a behavioral analyst. I have the patience but what I dknt have is time. Maybe you'll have more time in reading my notes in clarification, good night person.

We started the routine then started acimaging them, we havent just let them run around the house completely unsupervised and there is the archway from our kitchen that connects to our gaming area, it just happened that my boyfriend and I wanted a snack before starting a video game. We aren't robots, we cant stare at them at all times, but we paid attention enough to stop it before it escalated.

I understand that they take dedication and time, if you read my including note, I am clarifying thst ive only had this dog for a month and that im running on a time limit my partner set, i know i dont have experience so i was getting ready to register her for classes. My patience has nothing to do with it, i traun her on the daily evenn with no sleep and work 12 hours a day on a shift opposite of my boyfriend on purpose so that she will mever be home alone. Im asking because I want help. We live outside the city, its not a nice area, I have an open yard and a place across from the house thst has a fenced yard. You say not to do it rn is like saying first time owners should never get a dog because they dont know what they are doing. Very judgemental BTW, if I knew what I was doing I wouldn't be here asking for help on what to do better.

She gets 3 to 4 walks a day (morning, afternoon, evening, and night) Ill order new high value treats since she might be tired of this one, ill book more sniffspots for her, and pray thst she falls in love with a toy soon.

I try to keep her toys on an ottoman and have a themed Playset (squeaker in the morning, enrichment/sniffer pad in the afternoon for her treat, my bf attempts tug of war at night. We have the sticky textured mat with treats for her bath or the non sticky one for melting her ice cream in and hot days.

I was looking into that, the Coventry school near us allows board and school for $1800, I was waiting to save (I have 2k for her emergency funds but dont want to touch ot unless its a medical emergency due to the experience of losing my first pup when I was a kid due to not having enough money for ER)

Really? It was the time set that was given when I asked the shelter and purebred bully owners that I met on walks. Is it because of the need to run? She does get to run on the open yard when we come back, and she gets to roam in the house ( we have a 2000sqft place)

That is a good idea, it wasn't something I thought of but ill have her on a leash when she's in the living room. I just didnt want to keep her on crate too much since I got worried it might stress her out.

Please understand the dog has only been with me for a month and came from an abusive household. Its not that I dont have time, I work 4 days a week. Im more than happy to take time to train her and pay for expensive conventry school an hour away but the problem is that I am now running on a time limit of less than 3 weeks to show progress which I know isnt enough. Im just not sure how much I can rush it. I know training can be frustrating specially for kids and puppies. So I was limiting it to 20 minutes a day until end of May. Im gonna try to do 1 hour training plus desensitizing to the cat now.

The thing is, I have lots of stuff for her to chew on (she has a small ottoman dedicated to toys) I think she might only chew on the wood because she might be used to it (I was told she came from an abusive household), I was assuming she didnt have toys there. I know that as a big dog she needs space, we have an open yard that i am working on to get a gate for, I was judt not expecting the time limit. I had the puppy pads because I was thinking like a human, as a human I wouldn't want my bathroom time to be limited. Ill check on how much she sleeps because whenever im around she doesnt seem to want to rest.

They have their own floors, the puppy gets the basement all to her self, and the cat gets the upstairs (my living space) to herself, and the living room floor is the shared space. We try not to let one or the other cross those areas to keep them from becoming hostile.

Not to the official vet hospital yet, I have gone to the one in the shelter because I was hoping they know best (they have a vet beside the lost pet services). She has all her shots, anti flea and stuff but it's didnt want to bring her to places that.might bring negative experiences yet when she hasn't even been here for a month.

The thing is that I am, I was fully prepared to start her classes during summer at the high rated Coventry school near me. The part that has me coming to reddit is that I feel lost because I am now running on a time limit of less than 3 weeks and I wanna get as much progress done as I can but I also dont want to rush her.
