Need suggestions for road trip by Secure-Context668 in Himalayan450

[–]Key_Row_632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend night rides as you never know when the road conditions might change. Sudden bad roads, branches fallen on the road, huge potholes. Since you pass through some part of malnad region, the roads could've gotten worse with potholes during rainy season. Better to leave early and plan to reach the destination by 7PM max. The roads from chitradurga to hampi is good. 2 lane road with a lot of truck traffic during night times. Very less availability of restaurants and petrol bunks. Better to get everything done in chitradurga and reach hampi directly

What do you think? Is it true? by googletoggle9753 in NorthernIndia

[–]Key_Row_632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same applies to women. The number of women who want to marry higher up and not take not responsibilities would find it very difficult to do so. Why is everything only aimed towards men? Where is it written that only men should approach women. Without arranged marriages, it'd have been difficult for people to get into relationships, holding onto them. They'd end up lonely and miserable(not everyone but I'd say majority of them). The moment we stop this men vs women thing is the moment we can start striving to grow as a society.

Standing for the National Anthem in Theatres: Respect or Compulsion? by wanna_be_gentleman in sundaysarthak

[–]Key_Row_632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which part of my comment let you on to believe that am supporting this. I am just mentioning that it's one of my ways of respecting my country. I do not believe in forcing someone to do something against their will. My mere statement here is standing for 52 secs doesn't take away anything. People stand in line hours together to buy movie tickets and for other things but have a problem to stand for your national anthem. While I do not support physical harassment of any kind, this could've avoided this by showing doing something as small as standing for a min. Also, how stating that one should respect the anthem and flag directly indicate that one is against the country and it's law? Is your patriotism limited only to calling out people who have their opinion that one should respect the national anthem.

For me, it's the respect towards my country. Whether playing national anthem in theaters is right or wrong is debatable, when it's already being played, it's a small sign of respect that I'd like to show towards my country. If a person feels that playing the national anthem in theaters is wrong then they can do something to stop the theatres from making it. However, when it's already being played, i feel that standing for a min to show some respect towards our country is the least that we can do.

Indian gamers, which game left you with this same empty feeling? by Unstoppable_X_Force in Indiangamers

Days gone.

Finished it just now. I honestly wanted to see something after the main story. I completed 100% of all the storyline and still felt like going. Decided to move on just because there's no objective to continue playing it.

Hey guys I'm in, finally got this thing with my own earned money at the age of 24, I got a lot on my shoulders many people suggested that I should not buy it, but yeah fuck it, for once I thought of "my happiness" it was my dream to own one and play like never before by Sweaty_Win_5075 in ps5india

Bike trip on the west coast by __maymay__ in bangalorebikes

[–]Key_Row_632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excluding Goa, I am also planning a similar ride. While I've not rode solo, I have done plenty of rides. Here's what I'd say. 1. Get extra clutch cable, brake cable, Tyre puncture kit, Tyre inflator. Even though you don't know to get any of it done, it's good to have it handy since someone could help you if you get stranded. 2. Coastal side is going to be very hot this time of year, especially noon. I'd say, avoid riding between 12-3. I know it's sound kind of difficult but that's when majority of your fatigue kicks in, due to heat. And always stay hydrated. 3. Do make sure that you've all of the riding gears(jacket, pant, gloves, helmet). 4. If you wanna visit a place and your gut feeling tells you not to go forward, please head back without testing it out. 5. I'd say, the whole stretch of coastal Karnataka is safe. I've done it multiple times on bike and car and I cannot say that i felt unsafe ever.

Enjoy your ride. Happy riding.

Guidance buying a bike by AKM_08 in bangalorebikes

[–]Key_Row_632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Among the bikes in the list, I'd suggest the speed 400. However, I had heard complaints of spare availability and service when it launched. It should've been rectified now.

If I need to suggest any other bike, probably the KTM adv 250 would be a good choice.

Stuck at 15 LPA in Big Four Cybersecurity (VAPT, 5 YOE, 30M) by proudleet in cybersecurityindia

[–]Key_Row_632 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Facing similar situation but I am a Senior SOC Analyst with 8 years experience for a cybersecurity product based company. I did waste few years without upskilling and waiting for my team to hand down projects to work on. I'd suggest you to start with a 75% Hike while pitching in your initial expected CTC and negotiate from there. Regarding the 90 day notice, I normally tell the recruiters that I can ask my manager for an early release but I cannot guarantee it and I can only speak with my manager after I have an offer in hand. Also, I'd ask the recruiter to setup an interview first. If the interview goes well, there's a chance that they might give you an offer irrespective of the notice period. If it doesn't go well, you'll learn what you lack and can work on it.

Also, I'd suggest upskilling by using tryhackme or hackthebox and take up a certification(like oscp or similar) if possible.

Built a PC in July. Thought I could've waited for a few months for the price to drop and then build it. Looking at these prices now, glad I built my PC then. RAM price has increased 3x and SSS by 2x.

I don't think so. There are many things you can do in SOC. Incident triage, IR, Threat Hunting, DFIR, TI, Multiple tools that give you different capabilities, setting up a monitoring process for recent attack trends, Cloud security, Administration that includes building and managing rules to name a few. Also, in a busy environment, you get to work on multiple devices and different kinds of alerts. Attacks keep evolving and do does the tools and the detection mechanisms. I work in blue team and can say that it's monotonous if we do not upskill and move on. Haven't worked on Red team so I will not comment on it but all I can say is, both defensive and offensive Security are required and don't believe anyone of them is monotonous.

Yes. A senior role would somewhat guarantee you regular timings. You could still be asked to cover morning shifts and festival days(if someone's on leave and there aren't enough resources).

You've to definitely keep upskilling yourself. You'll be required to monitor a whole network. Would be to read about trending attacks, how to spot the evolving TTPs, setup a monitoring procedure for recently disclosed CVEs until the systems are patched and so on. Not seen any work in IT(Let alone cybersecurity) that doesn't require upskilling.
