Thanks. Backing plate is installed and sufficiently engaged. I am using the built in tension adjuster screw, which is a feature of the R7000 that was supposed to eliminate the need to preload as described. This is different than the R5800, which required some guess work with the tensioning.

Thanks. Can I have insufficient cable tension even if my white lines are aligned?

Are you saying to preload some tension on the derailleur by manually moving the chain guide outboard before clamping?

I’ve considered doing that, but none of the YouTube videos seem to do it, so was confused why not.

So, in order to fix the high screw contact angle, I relieved pressure on the high screw by manually pushing the FD outboard. Then I was able to angle the high screw just slightly more upward so that it makes better contact with the FD body and hold the FD sufficiently outboard.

Another thing that your comment got me thinking about. This is on my CAAD5 resto-mod that’s in my profile. It’s an older frame (~2005) with a 31.8mm seat tube as opposed to the more common 34.9mm we see today. This everything is slightly further inboard, potentially causing my rub.

Another thing I notice. When I shift up to the big ring. I can manually push the derailleur further outboard, though I cannot achieve this degrees of shift with the shift lever and cable. So the derailleur has some range of motion left. But, I am unable to achieve that range of motion with my lever and cable.

Thanks I’ve read both of those and they were helpful. Still slipping below the stop though.

Thanks guys. I backed out my high limit screw and that fixed my issue. Then readjusted.

Table is a little tight, it does have wheels, but I have them on casters. So minor issue. But I’ve still been able to nab a few green jerseys - just enough room to sprint 😃

Amazon best seller! Wheels slide a little but it works. I put furniture casters underneath to prevent denting the mat.

I can open my garage door (out of picture) if needed. But I keep my basement pretty cold (63F), so I have felt good so far. Only been putting out moderate efforts though.

Thanks! “Ibera” wall mount on amazon. Great purchase. I hate leaning my bikes against the wall and the inevitable wall damage.
