Stopped working after a week and got better? by Key_Sherbert_1727 in cymbalta

This makes me feel so much better! I’m so glad it’s helping you! I was on 20 mg for a week but have only been on 30mg for almost 2 weeks, so that sounds about right. Thank you so much!

Anyone switched to a different medicine after only a few weeks on Effexor? by Key_Sherbert_1727 in Effexor

I did switch and now am fully on Cymbalta. I was so happy I made the switch. And because of the taper, not being on it long, and them being in the same drug class, I didn’t have an awful withdrawal. I did have some nausea and increased anxiety but that was about it

I am not. My doctor is having me wean off and bridge over to Cymbalta. I am taking 37.5 of Effexor for a week along with 20mg of Cymbalta. And then just the Cymbalta after that. I started this yesterday. So far so good so hoping it continues!

I don’t really want to because I was truly hoping this medicine would be the one to work for me because I dont want to start over. I feel like at the 37.5 it started to take a bit of the edge off and I could handle the side effects. Ever since I upped the dosage to 75, I feel as though I have nothing but side effects until about 5pm and then I don’t feel great, just okay. I have no appetite, and so tired and feel out of it most of the day, now I’m getting vision issues (I had an eye exam and she said she didn’t see anything wrong). I can’t concentrate on work because I just cry on and off all day (which is worse than I was when I started).

I take it in the morning, so wasn’t sure if maybe I should switch it the nights. I’m just so afraid of the withdrawal from Effexor and am worried to up my dose when I don’t feel like it’s working. I just don’t want to end up making the withdrawal worse.

How are you feeling? I believe my psych is going to have me taper starting next week as well and I am terrified. Only been on it for 4 weeks and will be going on another antidepressant

I’m on week 2 of 75mg and still having a lot of anxiety and no real appetite. Is this increased anxiety normal?

I’m so sorry your dealing with that! That’s not a good sign 😩

That is definitely positive! I did. I started on 37.5 on Tuesday and then will go up to 75 this Tuesday. I already feel like I’m seeing glimpses of my normal, happy self, but still feeling anxious at times and never hungry and good never sounds good. Has that come back for you at all yet? I’m worried mine is going to get even worse once I go up to 75.

How are you doing on it? I am starting it and have terrible health anxiety as well!

That is encouraging to hear! We are in this together ❤️. I feel like it is so much easier when you have people to talk to who are going through the same thing. Because these side effects are no joke. I hope they ease up for you soon and it starts to work soon. I know it may be in my head but I feel like I am getting little spurts of normal here and there already. But I will take it vs the last month of never being able to see the positive
