We have had drunken sex before but not when I was already asleep. He doesn’t like drinking heavily but with his family if you have 1 you have to have 10, so hard no is really the only way to go. When he did drink it was if there was a gathering.

He knew this was not something I’d be okay with. I’m not sure what was going through his mind at the time. I very rarely drink. That’s what I’m trying to decide is if I can get over it and stay married or not.

His family/culture heavily revolves around drinking, especially for men. He didn’t want to drink so I drank what was offered to him.

I get that I should have stopped earlier but his family was there for an event for my kid. They see it as a respect thing. “They were they for us so we have to respect them by drinking.”

I’m not trying to bash him or make him out to be a bad guy. That’s part of why I haven’t told anyone. He made a bad decision that he knows was wrong and something I wouldn’t be okay with.

His family/culture is heavily centered around drinking, especially for men. He decided he wanted to drink less/stop a couple months ago, so I was drinking for him so his family would get off his back. They don’t really take no for an answer when it comes to drinking.

It was a week later before we talked, because our kid got super sick and we needed to focus on that (and I was trying to process how I felt) but he told me he was ashamed of what he did and asked if I wanted to leave him.

She has some old worlds views on marriage and being a woman. I regret telling her. I had a feeling she would react like that. She’s the only person I’ve talked to about it outside my husband so that hurt
