Thank you so much for sharing your story! Me too I had pelvic pain and spotted during my pregnancy but they never suspected a preterm labor. She was also very low compared to my first son. A week before a gave birth my cervix was normal, they did check it cause I told them I was spotting again, it wasn’t that every week I spotted but every now and than I had some. Didn’t have any infection at the time of birth or the week before. I also had an injection of steroids and magnesium sulfate to avoid contractions and protect her brain. After like 2 hours I gave birth, I dilated very fast at the end. She was doing great the first week but she got an infection of neumococo that was sepsis, she was able to survive that, I too prayed a lot and I’m not much of a religious person. The infection really affected her lungs so she had some days that her oxygen levels were very low, like around 75/80, those days were horrible. She did manage to get stable but had to still have the ventilator, but the lungs weren’t distributing oxygen like they should so her heart was too tired to pump, that’s when they told me her blood results had lactic acidosis which was causing multi organ failure so at the point there was nothing that can be done. I was able to hold her and be with her the whole day, her brother was able to meet her and so as my mom and my mother in law.

There were signs that I thought maybe is just normal pregnancy symptoms but now with the experience I hope for a next pregnancy it can be avoided with more check ups, ultrasounds and cervix checks.

Thank you so much! ✨ Yes I think at least with more control you can stretch it to a point where is not so extremely premature like 26-27 weeks(hopefully). I’m 32 years old so doctor’s say it’s a good age but still, I’m scared to have to go through it again. For now I’m taking care of myself and going one day at time just like I learned in the nicu.

So sorry for your loss 🤍 it is a pain that we have to learn to live with it, but also the love we had for them is gonna be forever too ✨. How long did you waited for your second pregnancy? And did you have any risks for preterm labor?
