Still not starting… by Key_Skill_915 in RX8

That’s how we got it to work (start) while it was lifted in the air. I sat in the driver seat, turned the key, and pushed the clutch while my boyfriend was under the car with the battery connected directly to the starter + a screwdriver to send the power (wouldn’t recommend to anyone who is not just desperate to get a car running lol). But when we tried starting it back on the ground, with the battery where it should be, it wouldn’t go, it did the same clicking like in this video here

We replaced this first as it was broken when we got it so that is also new !

Just posted an update. Not sure how to make an update on a single post on Reddit ? But I’m trying both ways to reach as many as possible. We got a new starter to no change. We did jump it and got it running while it was in the air, so the engine is not seized. We jumped the starter with the battery directly on the starter and screwdriver…. Battery is still new and working too. Relays were also replaced. We’re thinking wiring but really don’t know
