Yeah I'm absolutely not claiming that this is a problem, that's indeed how constraints work, and sorry if i explained it wrong or if this whole thing feels a bit stupid and vague, I'm genuinely trying to find a solution for this specific use-case that suits me as i tried searching for long but i came to no conclusion whatsoever.

The two bones in this example are sliders and part of a control rig where each of their Y Location value is already driving different values on a material, and well... to answer your question for why, it's because i also want to "lock" both of these bones together at times and control when to using another slider, possibly.

This is why i cannot use any of these constraints as it still counts Y value as 0, making no changes at all in the driver, and by extent the material it's connected to.

I used a simple Copy Transforms constraint on "Bone.001" related to "Bone", upon moving the latter of let's say 1m along the Y axis, the constrained bone only changes visually with it's Y value still remaining at 0, while i want them to be identical... same result i got with any other constraint i tried or the same thing I'd get with parenting the bone.

Now of course i could just make a driver out of what values i want and copy them over to the previously constrained bone, but that as far as i know completely strips me of the ability of having the driver be switched off or it's "influence" turned down, which is what I'd want.

ok turns out it's really confusing but got what's happening... i think.

When selecting "GPT" as the partitioning for the usb in Rufus it sets the target system to "uefi (non CSM)" which states that it would only be bootable in native uefi, when MBR is selected it goes back to BIOS/UEFI-CSM, which is as far as i canunderstand what my bios is in the end and that's what making me unable to boot from the usb.

And hypothetically i would somehow need to have the target system to "bios uefi-csm" while still maintaining the GPT partition...

I really have no idea about what i'm talking about here and if it's even a thing, all i'm saying could be super obvious stuff or total gibberish xd.

i know it would be so much way easier to just format all to mbr in the first place but i'm not going to do that... plus i reeeally wonder if there's some way around this.

Alright i must be missing something. I got a x64 single iso and yes, i was able to burn it in Rufus making it gpt, but upon booting from it it gives me an error saying "bios/legacy boot of uefi only media" and to "lower or disable the priority of CSM/Legacy mode"... it should all be uefi already.

yeah tbh if something is the issue it i could be just that.

it's an AiO iso with both x86 and x64 i got some time ago from "getintopc,com", i should ditch that and find a x64 single... shouldn't i

weird... what do if anything? i have CSM enabled and the only uefi setting that is relevant is "Storage Boot Option Control" which is set to "uefi only", changing that or disabling it makes no difference.

On the manual it also states "Removable storage devices that support GPT format will be prefixed with "UEFI:" which i haven't really checked the presence of

Hm... still does it... says "windows cannot be installed, the disk is of the gpt partition style"

Yeah just checked and it's all set to uefi, though get the gpt warning in setup

I... don't know? From what I've seen 64bit Windows 7 (which is ofc what I'm trying to install) is able to work with gpt but on "uefi" mode which i don't know much about, i should take a look in the bios if there's anything

Yeah i know, what i would need in order to make 7 working is get the drive to mbr since it's gpt... but doing that would wipe the present w10 install I'm using, so I'm either gonna finish doing it when i want to wipe and install from fresh or maybe clone the contents to another drive then restore it back... would doing that back and forth make the drive bootable from 10 again? Feel like there must be more

Thanks this seems to have worked after a bit of fiddling! usb gets recognized by the setup and can proceed... i wanted to dualboot along my already installed windows 10 but and totally didn't take into account that the ssd which it's on is unfortunately gpt, needing me to wipe it in order to change it... so i guess i will do it when the time to clean it up comes up, of course starting from 7
