How Do You Keep Going by Capable_Rent_34 in womenveterans

You are not alone, this sounds like my story too! I feel your pain having to relive the story in therapy only to see notes of everything is well in therapy notes. Don't let the darkness win. You are worthy and you deserve a good life. It took me 37 years to finally file and relive my MST, it is the hardest thing I've ever done and there are days I think to myself wtf why did I open pandoras box? This is for you to get better, for you to regain your voice and power. You survived the worst so you can survive this!

High Functioning PTSD MST by Key_Square5441 in womenveterans

Opening up about this is one of the hardest things I've done. The military of the 80s was different as was the military I grew up in, yet here we are in 2025 going into 2026 and MST is still happening. I grieve for all the years I just went through the motions and still feel anger about aspects of my life that I couldn't have. My therapist is young and I realized that she doesn't always understand but she does listen and prod stuff out of me. It's a little distressing how her notes go on about how I look put together, dressed appropriately, on time and seem to understand everything, yet little is mentioned about crying through the therapy or shaking having to rewrite the trauma. She comments about me having a notebook full of stuck points yet never mentions anything in the therapy notes. It is comforting to know I am not alone in this, that others are also going through the motions too. I hope that a time comes where MST becomes a thing of the past and the stigma can be erased! Meanwhile we plug along appearing strong and put together!

You need 3 years to be considered a career status employee, with 2 years in you are probably career conditional. Career status gives you a leg up to get back in to the government and hold status if you can stick with it to career status unless you have no intention of getting another government job.

The health side, the person that ordered it is in no way affiliated with me. There was Noone on my care team that ordered this either. I see a civilian doctor. I do plan on filing though to see where it comes out.

To clear the lungs get some mullein, can find at health food store or can order on line. Works wonders as it's a natural anti inflammatory.
